Lingo is probably a local, maybe even with a special permit for the chosen ones,… How can he understand those from eastern Slovenia? But I believe there's now blissful peace in Vrata. And many other places too, where you can still go with your own transport. Especially across the border, where they're pushing us Slovenian hillwalkers. Let them stick Triglav and its surroundings somewhere.

I still maintain that "Lingo" is the alter ego of the formerly very active forum user Viharnik - by the way how's the attic? . His posts are mostly trolling or cloyingly boastful, so his comments should be taken with a pinch of salt.

What attitude towards citizens (sick, disabled, elderly...), members and taxpayers "as Kranjska Gora mayor Henrika Zupan says, There were no objections, we hope everything will run smoothly" Narcissism They introduced payment because they need money for higher salaries in the municipality

Such selfish and narcissistic thinking as lingo allowed himself, never before! According to him today's 69+ hikers should crowd on the bus or sit at home on the couch! And this is stated by someone who thinks he is a mountaineer! Actually the situation with turnstiles and exorbitant parking fees reflects today's mindset in SLO, whose representative is also lingo.

Daam, regarding Viharnik I find lino more suspicious, not lingo. Anyway, they've practically chased us away from that end. And I myself was recently among those advocating order and proper attitude to locals. At a reasonable price, of course. What they're doing now bears no resemblance to anything. On the other hand the chosen ones have free entry. What does that remind me of…?

Drago, you're right. I overlooked this quite sloppily. Still, by feeling, it's still a "second profile" of some regular poster up here. Lino - I apologize to you here. But that doesn't mean you troll any less

Lisac, which umbrella organization do you mean? The so-called PZS is just one of the initiators of restricting access to Vršič and Vrata, Šarkezi clearly said that. I don't know how it's so hard to peek over the fence to see how they solve such problems at more crowded and interesting locations.

Since I'm also in the years of owning the famous card, let me say that I've used it only once in all these years. We planned to go by train from N Gorica to B Bistrica then on foot over Črno prst to Podbrdo and back. How it looks in practice: In Anhovo we wait one hour because a tree fell on the track somewhere. Then we crawl at 30kmh through Grapa and in Grahovo we wait half an hour - waiting for the oncoming train . One and a half hours delay on such a short distance. We did the tour anyway, but no talk of planning the return that way. Public transport capacities are mostly used by retirees for tourist purposes, not hikers.

It would be interesting to conduct a survey, how many retirees - hillwalkers use this card? And on which routes? Tadej could ask that in a poll. If I went just to Pohorje, my local hill, just for the ride there and back (34km) I'd need at least 3 hours. 2x more than ascent and descent! For Triglav the ratio is the same, but not in hours, in days.

I also tested the card. From Stahovica to Domžale, a friend drove me. To Rudnik (Lj.) then with the card. Total from Stahovica: 3h 15m. Useless for anything serious in the mountains!

First I didn't plan to reply, but anyway. Some of you are just spoiled whiners who think only of yourselves, know everything, but can't even check the timetable. If you head to Vrata on Friday, you have 16 direct buses from Ljubljana direction available between 5:30 and 20:30. Ride takes ca 1.45 h. https://www.ap-ljubljana.si/en/timetable?departure=3622&destination=4329&date=2025-04-18 If you go to Triglav in season, walk those two hours, sleep in Vrata or at Stanička, next day to the summit and after lunch you can be back in the valley already. But no, I get the young ones, us older we did Triglav like that all youth. Just some forgot it like Melania her Slovenian roots Where does it say to get up at two at night and race up and down in one day? Take time for the hills. For racking up elevation the apartment stairwell is good enough. @mojcula, who's the bigger egoist than you? You'd drive your as* to the WC door below Aljažev dom and then at 69+ fly in one go to Triglav, stamp your hand and be home by six pm and bake strudel till the news? Maybe yes, just all from the couch

I'd ask lingo where we are in the public transport story, we alpinists and ski tourers who have a 250 km drive to the Aljaž parking and also a state border. In the last 40 years I've been in the Vrata valley many times, with mates or alone, car parked for 2-5 days, while I was on hiking, climbing or ski touring trips. Public transport on the Zagreb-Jesenice line exists by train 4x daily, the ride lasts 3.30-7.20h, no departure is adapted to mountaineering tours. If I want a weekend trip (e.g. climbing in Stena) on Friday I can't go to work so that I arrive early enough to sleep in Aljažev dom. For the return on Sunday I have only the train at 17.30 h; if I start from Kredarica at 8 h I'll be at Aljaž at 12, then I still have 5 h to get to Jesenice. Due to an ankle injury it's no option for me to walk to Mojstrana, and if there is no bus I won't get home on Sunday. In Vrata I roamed alone many times for several days in the area between Kriški podi and Kukova špica, on the other side Stena-Triglav-Stanič-Za Cmirom. There is no marked or unmarked path there that I haven't walked, no summit that I haven't stepped on. If I drive to Vrata myself the transport costs are already so high that there is no option to also pay multi-day parking in the amount those crooks thought up. It's sad that my daughters, who are slowly old enough to start tours in the Alps, won't get to know the beauties of JA, very likely soon not even KSA, and that we'll mostly go to Italy or Austria. I've been a member of PD Ljubljana-Matica for 35 years, wondering if continuing PZS membership makes sense, since PZS fights nothing to enable free access for multi-day mountaineers (for me Logarska dolina is an example of a good solution) and hut prices are anything but friendly. A few weeks ago we were ski touring in France, overnight in French federation huts is 12 EUR (only communal beds), please if anyone knows such a price in SLO, of course in the Alps. Sapienti sat.

Dovje-Mojstrana is since 2023 a "mountaineers' village": https://slo.bergsteigerdoerfer.org/2-3-Kraji.html One of many tasks of mountaineers' villages is also: Mobility / transport Mountaineers' villages make special efforts for guests who want to visit a place without their own motor vehicle. Municipalities actively strive to maintain and improve public passenger transport, being especially attentive to guests' needs. https://slo.bergsteigerdoerfer.org/6-3-Filozofija-planinskih-vasi.html So Dovje-Mojstrana is especially attentive to guests' needs and actively strives to improve public passenger transport. Hm... This actually has nothing to do with transport, but it is also one of the "tasks" of mountaineers' villages: External appearance and look of the place Mountaineers' villages devote huge attention to construction quality. Especially they strive that buildings and facilities match the typical local appearance in size, material choice and shape. Yes, both Dovje and Mojstrana have really fine alpine architecture, no pink, yellow or green facades, nowhere cypresses for hedges, architecturally pure alpine style wherever you look. Probably soon there will be a tender for some vans that will shuttle guests to the end of Krma and Kot, in Vrata maybe we'll get a double-decker bus since there is no overpass on the road. The upper deck will of course be double price, bit by bit . . .

PZS paid last year membership fee for "Slovenian mountaineers' villages" in the amount of 11.180,00€. What do Slovenian hikers, mountaineers and others get from that???
