Run to Grintovec

I also think women aren't discriminated at all here if the ratio of registrants by gender is as stated. But I'm curious what it would be if the ratio was reversed in favor of women.

The topic dissolved before Irina's eyes...
Weird because this is really awful discrimination...zmeden
A male competitor will get, say, 50 euros for 10th place, a female with a worse result than him a medal and 750 euros...eek
Otherwise we're becoming typically un-Slovene...

Silvestr0, where did you get the idea to compare absolute times of men and women?

Tina Maze got more money than some 15th placed male giant slalomist, but he'd overtake her on the same track easily by several seconds.

I think it's discrimination regarding who can run topless. From the race spectators' viewpoint, men are disadvantaged and thus discriminated against. mežikanje

We got a bit off track. Of course I didn't literally mean that men are discriminated against.

I just wanted to illustrate that Irina's argumentation doesn't prove anything and it's not worth responding to without thinking.

For clarification, I'll list some otherwise obvious things:

Absolute physical strength of a man is undoubtedly more attractive in endurance/speed sports than a woman's. Such a spectacle as Usain Bolt's 100m sprint can't be achieved by the women's category. That doesn't discriminate against women at all, but in absolute terms it's simply not equally interesting.
If any lady is cursing me right now because of this statement, she should ask herself the name of the fastest female sprinter in the same discipline - the current record holder. The average portal visitor probably doesn't know it. Which is even more controversial given that the record has stood for 25 years.

In general, we are predisposed with a tendency to be attracted to bigger, faster and stronger things. Physiologically that's the male sex. The men's category in the run to Grintovec is the one breaking time records and arriving first. That's how it is.

If the first woman finishes this year, we're probably all for her getting the highest prize offered.

@garmin, when I visit my mom in the nursing home, who has already passed ninety, I rarely meet any men. She's not the fastest but still approaching 100.

Primoza, there are shorter routes available for children. Your two kids have so much stamina that it shouldn't be a problem at all.

In short:

It was hellish in one word. I ran very badly. I didn't even think I'd achieve such a bad time. Disappointed with my run. Organization top-notch as always.

Thanks to you fans for the loud cheers. You were awesome!

Otherwise, Eritrean Azaria Teklay came 1st to the top of Grintovec in 1:22:14. 2nd was Nejc Kuhar with time and 3rd Italian Alex Baldaccini

More detailed report to follow.
