Signs (crosses and chapels) on hiking trails

This is St. Peter in Suha Krajina above the village Dvor pri Žužemberku. The summit is 888 m high and on the path up there, a way of the cross accompanies us, which has fourteen crosses equal to the thirteen stations of the way of the cross.

Above the village Podgozd the path to Sv. Petra starts and here the crosses of the way of the cross start. This is the first.

The second one would soon be overlooked, which has a slightly unusual base.

The fourth cross would almost have escaped me.

This is the tower that also has a cross on top.

Even lower down you can find quite a few. From the hike from Poženka to Šenturška Gora.

It was erected after WWI and recently renovated.

This church is characterized by its bell tower next to the church.

In Gorenjska villages you find at least three crosses.

This is Javorca. A charming wooden church stands on the Javorca pasture and is a reminder of the carnage in WWI.

On these wooden plaques are engraved the names of more than four thousand fallen soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian army.

On the facade are the coats of arms of all lands of the Austro-Hungarian.

Yesterday we drove to Oplotnica and then to the village of Brezje pri Oplotnici and soon spotted hiking signposts for Brinjeva gora.On the way up we encounter lots of chapels. The ridge path first takes us to 608m high Golika to the church of St. Neža.At the same time it is dedicated to St. Sebastian (Boštjan) and Pope Fabian.The next peak is Brinjeva gora, where there is a pilgrimage church of Our Lady. The ridge is 3.5km long and we walk it in a good half hour. Once they called it Male Višarje.The third church is at Brezje. It is dedicated to St. Martin.By age it is the youngest. The church of St. Martin is the fifth cultural monument in Slovenia, marked with Martin's footprint.
