Certainly Široka peč is worth respect.
Therefore congratulations to Katja and companion for the nicely done tour. I also note that her visits
are nicely increasing. I first signed in 2006 under number 129....

Some photos of yesterday's ascent to Široka peč. Start at 8am at the top of the toboggan run. Very hot. Ascent without issues. The last section before entering the approach ledge to the summit is snowy, also in the notch there's some light snow which doesn't hinder access. Wonderful day and fantastic tour.

Yesterday in cloudy weather on the summit. The first jump is still snow-covered, the other jumps are snow-free.

On Saturday successful traverse of Široka peč to Dovški križ over all 12 summits as described by M&M. On the ridge itself we both expected more difficulties and worse rock than it turned out. Abseils are equipped, occasionally a peg for progression is found, so we needed nothing else but 2x 30m ropes. Finally extension to Škrnatarica and via Gulce to the valley.

To me always annoying bypass of boulders in the gully

On the eastern summit of ŠP, right the ridge, in the middle Dovški križ

I wanted to check what's inside but no god opens it.

Descent 2x 20 meters and back up via the red thing. The thing is better than it looks.

Continuation of the ridge also offers some very good rock

Yesterday with a buddy from Martuljek to Široka peč. In the first gully you get a bit wet, in the amphitheater you tan, so you return to the valley clean and tanned mežikanje

No peculiarities, on some 'anchors' we added new prusiks.

today with brother finally to Široka peč, which is one of the mountains offering us some winter conditions in recent weeks in this year's otherwise very meager winter.

below the first pitch has iced waterfall that holds well. under the pitch leading to amphitheater still lots of snow, frozen below, windblown above. over the next pitch we belayed upper part, crampons used only for small snowy traverse in middle of pitch. amphitheater snow-covered, snow somewhat windblown or post-holing. start of ledge knee-deep postholing, but higher less. descent to notch without protection, bit of scrambling on rocks. gully to summit nicely filled. ridge sun-exposed, snow somewhat slushy. on descent belayed therefore (štajerc).

in short, great weather, good conditions, excellent tour. perhaps what surprised us is how many people around today! another team followed us to Široka peč. on Dovški križ team of three, on Škrnatarica two, on Oltar one, on Špik and Kukova špica whole crowd...
