Instead of Kočna I decided for Skuta at the last moment, no regrets. Path from kok.sedlo OK except 2 snow patches, otherwise all in bloom. Ascent done 25.06.2008.

On the same day I went over zmavcarje and only at the entry bv wall was a steep snowfield so I went on to the cross

Dry over both passes and in steep grasses behind Koglo. 29.6. some snow still in gully under Koglo and a bit on big slabs.

Hello!
On Sunday I plan to climb Skuta via Žmavčarje then on to Dolgi hrbet.
Interested in path conditions and if ascent possible without winter gear?

In my opinion, it's better to have something with you than to try your luck. The snow that fell will hold as it's minus up top, what melts becomes ice overnight leading to slip danger; during the day if warm and sunny then ice and snow melt making the rock wet and slippery from melting. Caution first.

I was alone on Wednesday on Brana. Attaching pic of Skuta and Rinka taken that day. I think you won't need winter gear.

Thanks for the info. We plan to go up via Žmavčarje. If conditions to the top too wintry we'll turn around and maybe go to Rinka, Tursko or back to the valley.

Conditions super. Up to the entry into the Skuta wall all dry, then some patches of softened snow requiring just a bit more caution. At the top all rewarded with great view and real summer weather. We descended via Štruca to Kokrsko sedlo. Below Štruca (S side) still some deceptive frozen snow patches.

No, not such big patches. Can avoid them over rocks or cross very carefully.

Yesterday, the two of us ascended Skuta. Ascent via Turski žleb gullied. That first chain (from below) right after staples in bend at horizontal wall traverse loose again. Crossing needs quite some skill at "ginganju". After scree "tiring" upwards, crossing two "patches" of snow (one a bit longer). Gully exit o.k. Continuation on Malih podih without issues to entry scree under Skuta. One part snowed (crossing requires caution), but snow soft and sinks. Climbing no issues, top wonderfully windless, sunning topless above. Return same path, gully gullied down (slips like hell) and little dance on chains. Down scree to junction with path to Savinjsko sedlo. By green spot on Friscauf sullen look at gojzarje taking toll on scree. Back to valley at 18.15 just before dark. Home info: Zajle to Križ (from Mrzli dol) under snow, ascent not advised. That's it.

Skuta - Dolgi hrbet and back..
we have all the gear.
I'm interested in the path condition?
has anyone been there these days?

here, we got back yesterday from Okrešelj, gave up on Skuta cuz weather was so-so..
and we went Turski žleb - Turska gora - Kotliči - Kamniško sedlo - Okrešelj.

Hello
Is the path from Cojzova koča to Kamniško sedlo already passable.
I mean Sleme here, (path over Sleme was destroyed years ago due to landslide)
How are the fixed ropes over Sleme now, maybe someone has pics of the new path over Sleme?
