Pic.12 Wikipedia says: nutria or coypu, which is larger than muskrat (Muskrats are sometimes confused with nutria, which is also a water-living rodent from South America. Muskrat is smaller, better adapted to colder climate, and has a laterally flattened tail, while nutria's tail is round and rat-like). Anyway, we have quite a few nutrias in Koper and they are really cute, especially when grazing, since they are herbivores.

Well, yesterday we did the last stage of walking along the Slovenian coast, which was the path from Izola to Koper or further. We wanted to go to Školjčišče before Ankaran, but what when we had to continue along the road. You can't reach the coast, we got to the middle of Bonifika bridge, then we gave up on reaching it, as parked cars were still spreading everywhere waiting for their buyers. Here business has priority over nature's beauty and I just fear they'll overrun Školjčišče and Škocjan Inlet someday. The coastal path to Koper is really nice, suitable for anyone (no need to climb fences), for hikers especially expecting nice views of the peaks that appear on the horizon, if you're lucky of course. And yesterday we caught some of that luck too, as the Julian Alps showed up nicely a few times, we even spotted Triglav and just for that it's worth coming down here. Together we did about 20 km, walking for approximately 5-6 hours.

Left of Migovec the dome of T. Kuk is nicely visible and far left the pyramid of Mahavšček. Far right are the green slopes of Žabiški Kuk behind it Vogel? looks a bit in the clouds?

Thanks mirank. Super yeah, from Tolmin Kuk left ridge towards Mahavšček. Every time I look, I see more! Behind right above Vrh nad Škrbino, Kanjavec is probably visible too. lp

Behind Tolmin Kuk there is Lepo Špičje, to the left of it that quite prominent peak is Plaski vogel

On Tuesday at the last moment we changed the plan and didn't go on the continuation on the Savudrija peninsula, as originally thought. We said, let's go along the coast from Simonov zaliv to Strunjan, so that we could admire the snowy Julian peaks along the way, and clear weather was forecasted too. Well, we didn't think that we'd need midway to take a short step on the upper path and return back to the coast. It is true, though, that it wouldn't have worked even without wading through water, since the water didn't want to recede very quickly. The water stayed cold despite teeth clenching. And the clarity of the sky couldn't be admired for very long either, since soon some gray crept from the west and darkened the sun. Yeah, from the west something bad always comes to us . We returned entirely on the upper path to the starting point.
