Everything depends on the forest owners, if there are many it's a problem altogether. It sounds simple, just make logs and pile them back. The work is huge and you need knowledge for such a thing and machines. The wood needs to be sawn, pulled out of the forest to the road where the machine for making logs can reach, and then the process of how to haul those logs back to the path. The work is dangerous and during the process would need to secure the area where quite a few people "sport" daily, which is probably the reason the wood still lies there. Also I don't know if logs are the right idea for spreading on the ground, because it seems to me that walking uphill on them won't be the best. Better to make steps with a bit thicker branches and prevent the material from settling down and it won't be slippery anymore.

Not opening new topic. From Smarna Gora by bike to Triple Bridge, where I spotted a brand new vehicle for transporting passengers to Ljubljana Castle.

At PD Smarna Gora we regularly maintain paths, regularly repair steps, pile with existing material, make side walls, fences, but with such a mass of people visiting our mountain and an abundance of rain that fell in the last month it's very hard. Need to get volunteers and coordinate when most volunteers have time. Regarding logs on the path, sebo306 already said it.

Every honour and praise to the team that takes care of the paths on Smarna Gora. Regards and safe steps.

Tip for joining some work action could come from PD Šmarna Gora, which undoubtedly masters the work. My initiative does not come as criticism of their work, which we indeed do not appreciate enough and devalue every time we rush en masse to the Mountain even in bad conditions. The idea with log bridges is from Scandinavia, where they thus overcome sensitive wet terrain with small incline. Perhaps the flat path Through Kuhinja is such one where mud could be successfully tackled for a few years in the proposed way. Path from Grada to Grmada expands in wet weather up to 10 meters in places... there too the issue could be partially solved with log bridges.

Observer, indeed on some path sections like the lower and also upper Kuhinja mud could be temporarily fixed with log bridges, the problem as you've noted in previous comments is money, the logs lying by the paths are private property. We know how it is with private property. As for participation in work actions, maybe we could post here when it will be, maybe someone signs up.

Probably I don't understand the meaning of the word sanation, because Šmarna Gora is by no means sanated. Ditches are made, but only valuable wood is hauled away. Under the Turkish chapel everything lies and rots. Important that forest owners get subsidies.

Some forest owners don't even know where their parcel is, some are older and can't clear the wood. Anyway even if it stays, no harm, it will turn into humus, which is not negligible, over time new trees will grow.

Let the wood stay there. Nature will help itself. Everything will slowly decay nicely. Not like in Javorniki, where a desert is now forming, with tree cut after tree and everything bare. Then erosion etc. For that wood they get almost nothing anyway. Intermediaries of course make fat profits. All unemployed could also collect it for some payment of course. Thus the Javornik desert up to the top of Veliki Javornik. When capitalists destroy the last piece of nature they might think about it or not? At least there will be a view. Hill Sovič above Postojna has now become a great viewpoint, because practically no whole tree left. All wood cleared and a walking path made to the hill.
