Well, most partisans fell on Porezen, who were encircled, captured on the top. Brigades moved from Škofja Loka, over Blegoš, where they wanted safely over Sorica to Bohinj. Otherwise, fortifications of the Rupnik line from the First World War between the kingdom of Yug. and Italy never served their purpose, except for scouting on the terrain.

All who view this portal, I have a REQUEST: I'm collecting old mountaineering equipment (some I already have: ice axe (1-2 world [wars]), safety peg, backpack, crampons, pictures, various carabiners and snaplinks; in short, I'm making a collection of mountaineering equipment for my own soul (reselling absolutely excluded). In this collection of mine, wooden snowshoes are missing, which were used in old times, so I would be very happy if someone has at least one (can also be unusable-broken) as it will serve only for viewing; call me at tel. 051 825 611 CVETO LP

Hello. I have one question. I borrowed snowshoes and will try them tomorrow. I always go to the mountains without trekking poles. I'm wondering if for snowshoes I'll necessarily need poles or if it works without too? Your experiences interest me.

From my own experience, I recommend trekking poles to you as well.

As Santi already advised, you necessarily need trekking poles with larger diameter winter baskets so they sink less. Sometimes unexpectedly with snowshoes we get tangled in a step or other obstacle, and for steep terrain it's essential to have poles with you. If you encounter narrow tracks, walk one foot on the track, the other next to it on fresh snow, or even on untouched. Many beautiful paths I wish you!.

CAR, if you're interested in old postcards of Slovene mountains with original summit and hut stamps, let me know, and I'll tell you where to turn.

Santi and viharnik, thanks for quick replies. Today I went to Zelenica and then towards Srednji vrh. Very satisfied with snowshoes, flat and uphill no problem, downhill a bit awkward. I made my own track not on the beaten path, easier. Need to test in other snow types, today southern already processed snow.

Postcards welcome too, I have a nice collection already. The stamp thing plays no role or value for me at least, since I hike and my own stamp on postcard or log means much more. LP

I also love snowshoes, have TSLs. Tried them in forest and various snow from very soft to hard crust. Important snowshoes have ice tips, feels safer step. Poles mandatory. Practice makes master. Admit when started did some "acrobatics" downhill...

Maybe someone is selling snowshoes for a smart price. In Iglu Sport they are 150 euros, what about in Austria with these snowshoes – are they more expensive/cheaper?

In Interspar on Vič in Ljubljana I didn't find snowshoes in Hervis at all, the gaiters offer is modest too.
