Today at noon I'll hop from Žlebe to Jakob. Down below cold fog, above 600m quite clear air and warmer. View stretched across all Gorenjska. Even top of Šmarna gora and Rašica were out. Mountains showed snowy white crowns. Triglav missed peeking from upper clouds this time. Didn't take pics. Wish you festive cheerful mood, in new year peace, harmony, wisdom, and inspirations for things close to your heart.

Today I arranged a more family trip, so a bit lower. To Jakob with brother and his son Domnom. Walk started at Žlebe at turnoff to Studenčece (weekend street) and through forest path to Mamovec farm. At top part of Jakob a bit cooler wind blew and it was really nice. View reached far, though Julijci not much clearer due to hazy heat. Kamniške clearer due to proximity. Quite some visitors, young, old and little annual hopefuls. Also Blegoš and Ratitovec from south losing winter garb, only on top plateaus still white. Nice holidays full of divine light and divine qualities in heart I wish you.

On Jakob today from SW in gusts it really pulled strong. This time visited with MTB. Here in Ljubljana and surroundings still decently sunny, from Kranj onwards cloudy blackness. Weekend won't be God knows what for mountains. Snow sinking, below bare ground. Hope some new will fall for snowshoes. Next year on skis, which are already home (dynafit se7en summits) Greetings-Rok.

In intense heat it's better to move a bit than sit still, so on the bike towards St. Jakob. Start at 5:30h when this intense heat eases. Go in the direction Medvode-Studenčece-Žlebe-Jakob-Toško čelo-Pržanj=30km. Up top renovated Jakob adorns the peak and heat not felt above 700m. Towards top engine (legs) runs in so I don't feel pedaling. Meet two cyclists, at Toško čelo a few more, otherwise nice loop for short time. Greetings from viharnik!

In Ljubljana we still get some sun, so off again to Jakob with MTB. Today quite some hikers from everywhere. Gravel roads on descent became dangerous because many deep water gullies formed, so careful on bike. I still rode at vacation limits like on race, but need some skill for such antics (Braking on front wheel, on curve shift to more rear, on hole release brakes, jump or stand over, switching sides left-right on torn sloped road). Anyway pleasure with some reserve and sober mind. Greetings from Rok.

Today happily visit Jakob before weather worsens. Do circular tour from below Toško čelo, Katarina to Jakob and over Mamovec farm on pleasant heavy and rugged cart track (drainage ridges ditches, channels, sloped terrain, jumps, bends) to Preska and back home towards Šentvid. Up there less humidity felt, paths already thickly covered with chestnut leaves. Was quite nice. Greetings-Rok.

Today I set off with the MTB on a hunt for the sun. As standard, I ascended from the direction of Toško Čelo, where it was already brighter than in the valley. Only at the last bend, where we see Katarina, the sun shows itself. Over the Topol-Katarina saddle 658m, from the south some fog is still dragging. Šmarna gora just by a hair peeks over the fog, about 20m, Rašica under cover. At the top of Jakob: Pa Ju hu hu!, very warm, like at the sea. Of course I don't descend right away into the cooling valleys, but sunbathe 1.5h in the warm sun. View excellent, camera battery today a bit less. Well, managed some pics. Greetings!

Today I opened the spring MTB season, but for now it only applies to the lowest parts of the hills.
I climb up the dry road to the pass, then to Toško Čelo, further towards Katarina I was already greeted by a wet road full of puddles. In between I stop at the ski jump of Toško Čelo, where I accidentally meet an interesting gentleman. He says he seriously started going to the mountains at 65, where he hiked-climbed all peaks over 2000m in Slovenia. For some he took a guide (Rigljica, Rušica, Prelčev stolp etc.). The guides couldn't believe his endurance, despite his relatively high age, and said that some half younger walked only half as fast as him. The gentleman says his father was the same and it's probably in the genes. Well now he also jumps 12m and for this year he wants to conquer peaks from 1500-2000m, where he says there's a lot of driving to the starting points like before. He also chose such paths that on Katarina he asked for advice from Pavel Kozjek, who kindly detailed the beginning of the ascent to the mountain. For the hribi net forum Tadej could ask the mountaineers where Votli vrh is?, which I also didn't know, he does and says there are a couple of descriptions, but very skimpy and unfinished.
Well, nicely surprised and at the same time amazed by the gentleman I ride to Jakob, where on the south grassy slopes are already showing almost everywhere, on the north there's still half frozen snow. Riding succeeds only on bike paths, on the whole the front wheel uncontrollably shifts left, right, sometimes completely stops in the snow. Because probably on S forest roads there's still a lot of snow, I decide for the asphalt road through Studenčece with return over before Sora and home. Nice and interesting day anyway. Now I jump to Trebnje for a used front headlight on the car, which was taking its last, because of a stone on the way home from Komna.Lp!

Hi geppo!
Yes, at the back I had a brown spur, legs muddied up to the knees, backpack too, bike to the first home wash so the mud doesn't dry. Used headlights for golf I got two with bulbs for 40eur, new ones alone cost 200eur at Porsche Verovškova, Lj.

Yesterday I drove with three friends to the village Topol. Although I have family friends in Trnovec the hills above it are almost unknown to me. We climbed to Grmada, St. Jacob and Rog. Very nice views, from St. Jacob an incredible view of Ljubljana and surroundings. I see this is Viharnik's terrain so greetings to him and all others from today's rainy Dolenjska.

Today I made a quick tour (two hours including the drive) to St. Jakob from the north Žleb, more precisely Ravanški grič and over the farm Pr. Mamovc 680m. Snow started to thicken from 600m onwards. On the ridge and along the upper ridge it was about 12cm and completely dry. It was the real opposite of the previous almost summer days. Everywhere snow, ground sometimes icy, wind from NE raged so strongly that on the SE ridge it made snow curtains. Snow was in places completely drifted into drifts 30cm high. After descent I crossed also such a wind snow curtain that rose about five meters high. In places stage sets of drifted snow along road edges. Also quite cold for such a hill. I like such tours especially.No pics.

On Saturday from Toško Čelo to Katarina and then to St. Jakob; despite short sun rays, the sun had no power to drive away the gray blanket over the very nice views that St. Jakob usually offers all around; the path was quite muddy to Katarina, further on trodden snow; lp

For us a bit older, visiting St. Katarina is just right for building fitness for summer adventures. Today's weather was an invitation to nature, although there were no nice visibilities, but full of blooming fruit trees and honey scents. Well you all know that when you walk in nature these days. The path led me from Slavkov dom to St. Katarina and back.

Dandelion puffs "shone" for me today on the way to St. Jakob, for even better feeling, meadow flowers and also some blooming dandelion took care, in short spring atmosphere on the hill where the church stands and desires our company. The path from Golega brda is extremely pleasant and also shady, so it's not too hot in warm spring days. Here I started and ended today's walk in nature, which invites with wide open doors.

Today a walk to Katarina and to its slightly higher elevation St. Jakob. They don't stand out with great height, but still offer heartwarming warmth especially when we look into the valley, our beautiful homeland.
Along the path it smokes underfoot, since no rain for a long time, chestnuts are slowly ripening, so visit it in the future you too.
