I'm also interested nasmeh - maybe someone knows if on the scree where the marked path crosses there's still a snow patch?

A good week ago there was still snow and you couldn't go without winter gear.

Hi,
Has anyone been to Stenar in the last few days? Wondering if the path from Zadnjica via Pogačnikov dom to Stenar is now completely dry?
Thanks!

Was there last Saturday. Actually from Zadnjica over Luknja to Bovški Gamsovec, Stenar, return via Kriške pode. Dry. Safe steps!

Hi,
Has anyone been to Stenar (from Zadnjica) recently and can tell me if the path is already completely dry?

On the camera from Pogačnik's home I see that around the scree below Stenar, which the path crosses, there is still some patch of snow, but I don't know exactly if this snow is right on the path or just next to it.

Thanks for the information.

Already twelve days ago it was almost dry land.

Thank you nasmeh From this picture that traverse to the right across the scree before that first rock jump still looks snowy to me.

Has the situation changed in the last almost 2 weeks, if anyone has some more up-to-date information?

I would namely like to go on this route only when it is surely completely bare, so that I don't have to deal with some annoying traverses on snow.

haha velik nasmeh I'll try to go up before December velik nasmeh

I'm mainly interested if I can go this weekend if there's no more snow on the path or should I rather wait another 2 weeks so that some patches melt that others potentially encountered in the last days

Thanks, but I'd rather find out from someone here on the forum who has actually recently gone to the top of Stenar, because in the past they've already given me incorrect/incomplete information in the huts a couple of times. But if I don't find out anything new on this forum, of course I'll call the hut nasmeh

It looks like all conditions have moved to Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/200278167400125/permalink/2209132029848052/

It looks dry.

Yesterday, 31.7. we climbed Stenar from Sovatna with intermediate stops on all Stenar's sub-peaks or "natural additions" ...
We started at an altitude of 1800 m, where we climbed to Stenar's plain via a saddle, which actually allows the easiest approach to the grassy plains under Stenar. From Stenar's plain we first climbed to the peak above us on the left side, when we realized that it is not Turn pod Stenarjem at all.
From the peak we traverse across the slope (easily passable, but exposed) to the notch in the SE ridge of Stenar from where we descend along the ridge to the real Turn pod Stenarjem 2177 m.
From Turn, of which there are two but the lower one is marked, we continue along the ridge cut to the top of Spodnji Stenar 2381 m from there along a super cut to the junction with the summit structure of Stenar. At that time we did not approach the top of Stenar, as we descended through quite severe rubble to a suitable knob for descent by rope into Stenar's notch, into the totally ruined world of Macesenec 2472 m. From the top of Macesenec we descended back to the notch and climbed to Stenar as well, thus completing a super tour.
On the tour we encountered climbing of the lower III. grade, the world is serious, broken, chaotic and completely wild. One of the aesthetically more beautiful ridges of Stenar.
I recommend the use of rope and all other technical equipment.
Thanks to M&M for the description of the approach to Macesenci.
An extraordinary tour in Stenar.
This is how it greets us1
