On Saturday we visited Storžič. We started hiking from Laško (Mače) along the hunting trail to Kališče and then to the summit. Descent the same path to Kališče, then marked path into the valley to the starting point.
All paths without peculiarities. Lucky with the weather, quite cloudy and pleasant for hiking. Towards the summit the fog cleared and nice views.
The summit gives a bad impression to the whole tour, abundantly covered with sheep droppings. zavijanje z očmi

On Tuesday, 22.8.2017 after six years I repeated the ascent to Storžič, this time with a friend—Storžič was her big wish. Up through Žrelo, down through Škarjev rob. Nice and varied tour, helmet mandatory, nice views, ideal weather for ascent; only summit substantially different than years ago; once rocky, now "sheep secret", for real. But that's part of nature, right?

After recent tour on mighty Ortler (3905m) today's ascent on home Stožec fitted well. Conditions not great (fog, windy), but nice in its own way.

Does anyone know what the current conditions are like? Is it possible to go through Žrelo and back over Škarjev rob without winter gear?

Was on Storžič on 23.9. The path through Žrelo is normally passable, over Škarjev rob caution is needed in some places due to drifted snow.

Storžič is not exactly a larch paradise but a strong autumn feel anyway. Afternoon ascent from Mač via Kališče to summit. Path no issues, views slightly foggy, peace total.

I don't know if because of a few dried spruces and twisted beeches it's necessary to intervene so much in nature.2

Me too today on top - went to see sunset. Up through Žrelo down along Škarjev rob (or pečeh). No one on these paths either. nasmeh Path b.p.

21.10.2017 - from Bašelj SW ridge direct to Storžič on to Bašeljski vrh - Mali Grintovec - Srednji vrh - Cjanovca return via Hudičev boršt and Kališče back to Bašelj.
Nice sunny autumn day path no issues probably nicely snowed by now.

Yesterday on Storžič - from Bašelj via Kališče. Path normally passable some patches hardened snow no problem.

Late morning. I knew I couldn't resist. Again 'a bit' my own way. Well, the furrows of the south face of Stožec still won't let me rest. One by one I'm exploring them. nasmeh
Above the entry jump (trentarska II) the wind took my pole into the abyss this time. I was so sad that in anger I threw the second one after it! Of course on the descent I felt better and since I hate leaving anything in the hills... I went to fetch it.
Thanks, Stožec. It's been a long time and it was nice again.

Tomorrow plan to summit Storžič via Škarjev rob. Anyone know conditions any snow on path? And how's macadam part road to Dom pod Storžičem?

No snow path super but tons of leaves to ridge careful esp downhill. Road fine.

Žrelo probably dry too? I'd go circular up Žrelo back over Škarjev rob...

Today the trail took me to Storžič. Mače, Kališče and along the ridge to the top. Trail to the saddle still somewhat trampled, ahead sinking to knees, sometimes deeper, depending on luck. But doable if you want velik nasmeh

Praise for the effort, Gandi, so that repeaters have easier work. Many years ago I did this tour several times in full, but we were always at least two... Nice pics you took. Bravo!
