Visit to Vintgar Gorge;
Before visiting the gorge, we wish to inform you of the most important
information related to visiting Vintgar Gorge. The visiting
regime has changed somewhat in recent years, so the visit
needs to be planned in advance.
The viewing of the gorge is one-way, meaning that through the gorge
you can only walk in one direction (from Podhom to Šum Waterfall).
Return to the entry point through the gorge is not possible. Back to
the starting point, there are two paths available - the green path (full loop 5.7
km, around 90 min) and the red path (full loop 4.3 km, around 75 min).
For walking, we recommend physical fitness and also
suitable hiking footwear.
Access to the gorge requires some preparation. All access methods are
presented in the brochure. Choose the green access - use the organized
shuttle transport and thus reduce your carbon footprint.
Due to providing a better visitor experience and reducing
pressure on the protected area, we limit the number of visitors
per hour in the gorge. Guaranteed entry without waiting is enabled by
prior purchase of an online ticket.
Purchase of a physical ticket is also possible at the entry point. Priority
for entry goes to users of online tickets, and entry with a physical
ticket will be allowed when a free spot is available for entry into
the gorge. Waiting time for entry into the gorge will depend on the number
of visitors during your visit - /TD Gorje/

It's really too expensive, I don't care if I never go through Vintgar again. They'll just make money on foreign tourists, that's their goal. At the entrance and exit there's already been some card machine or barrier for a while and without a card you can't pass. 10e for those 10-minute walk, no thanks. Once you could still sneak in

How will the control work so they won't return on the same path... won't the doors open and they'll be forced to go back? In my view, half of the visitors won't even know about these rules and chaos will arise

Maybe some such price comparisons with northern neighbors:
-gorge Čepa/Tscheppaschlucht/ 10€
-Raga gorge /Raggaschlucht/ 9€
-Bear gorge/Bärenschützklamm/ 5€
So, cheaper is possible too...

In Čepá the price includes bus transport back to the parking lot, but that costs 4€ for the car for the whole day.

I'm sure some brainwashed Gorenjec will quickly rush to emphasize that our Vintgar is oh so unique and those Austrian streams just can't compare to it and this fleecing is the only sensible. Maybe someone will still believe it.

The instructions for visiting Vintgar gorge are written so precisely and understandably that it already attracts people.
We shouldn't view things so narrow-mindedly. Most look only through the prism of money.
We need to look broader - it's a Slovenian gorge, Slovenian air, Slovenian sun, virtually Slovenian product etc. And at the end return with Slovenian "cipelcug". If we add up all benefits this entrance fee is real pocket change (small change). To fully utilize all these perks there's just one small condition - mastering ticket purchase online.

What about priority tickets only buyable online? Surely not everyone knows and those arriving without online bought ticket will be thrilled to learn they have to wait an hour,two,three at entrance.. but yeah, as lino says, Slovenian product, sun, all benefits, nothing missing, worth it even if 20e ticket haha lp
