We used a nice afternoon for a trip to the farm tourism at Gonte and climbed to Tošč. The path is very nice and rarely steep. It is also suitable for those without fitness. Views are nice especially to Polhograjska Grmada, on Mali Tošč you can also see Ljubljana. lp

On Sunday there was snow on Tošč, not much but all from Gont to summit snow-covered.

The snow that was there on Sunday is gone, as it rained all day yesterday.

Today's trip to Tošč provided a real, serious winter tour. I don't remember such extensive winter, almost alpine conditions on this relatively low hill. Since Mačkov graben is more frequented than from Ločnica, I hope for some parking spot from good folks. Of course, I park at the Kozjek family home parking lot, where the wife and brother of the outstanding alpinist Pavel Kozjek welcome me warmly. Now on the south slope, a new memorial path to Pavel Kozjek has already been laid out, which is also used for the annual night hike to Polhograjska Grmada. Then I head towards the overgrown road to the highest farm on the hill under Tošč. In the morning, I get only one track of a predecessor all the way to the top of Tošč, which I consolidate with snowshoes. There was plenty of snow and cornices everywhere, the sun has already driven off some gray clouds, and the idyll of nature was perfect.

Since I finished the construction of the dismountable (summer-tomato, winter-salad) garden yesterday, today I headed to the nearby Polhograjci. I park at the left parking lot in Trnovec and climb the little-known but nice solitary path via the Omejc farm to Tošč. Up top, the path joins the others at the saddle (Govejek, Gonte, Kozjek) and after a short ascent nears the ridge path to Tošč. Near the summit, I meet a column of transversal hikers, a little later only 10m below, it pours from the fog like from a bucket . Already wet, I decide for the summit anyway, because I won't stay dry down. At the Gonte farm, it was completely full of hikers, but since I am still completely warm, I decide for the descent to Rovtar. Due to the soaked terrain, the climbing path Via Dida also fell into the water for the return of the loop tour. Although a bit wet on the return, the tour was very nice, solitary and a bit dark due to fog and clouds.

Hi Viharnik, nice pics, despite the light (especially fog and bonsai). Via Dida? You woke my imagination, is it some wall section under Gonte or some internal idea?

Hi!, it's a steep path along the wall with a waterfall at the end of the road at Rovtar. The path branches right from the road that goes to Gonte, 20m before the visible wooden fountain and trough by the road that sharply turns left in the bend (from the parking 100m up). Here, you need to find the old track in the forest by the stream, which is well visible further. The path first steeply climbs along the waterfall cliffs good 200m, where on steeper sections wire cables help. It's not about any rock climbing, but mostly steep soil and consolidated scree with rocky sections. But the path itself is something special among the surrounding forests. Higher up, we cross right into the bed of the gully with the stream and local water intake that gurgles tk-tk, and we keep to this forest gully all the way. Finally, we reach the ridge Govejek or Omejc-Tošč (at the sign with path crossing - see picture). Lp!.

This Via Dida is very well known to me, but I haven't seen cables there . Something similar to branches, more like a fence, to call this path climbing... hm. Above, the path along my Via Dida crosses to the left, not to the right, above the waterfalls (there are several), into that gully by the stream. It is also marked a bit in its own way with an empty red circle, which is slowly fading too. LP B

The path is of course not an Italian ferrata, but steeper than all trodden paths around here and extremely interesting. The path to the top crosses the edge of the waterfall gully to the left, then right again, then on the flat it fully directs to the right to the water intake. I think there are cables, some meters, but laid on the ground as I recall.

Today in the evening instead of in front of the TV, rather to Tošč. During snowfall I park under Omejc, then on foot up. From Omejc onwards there was only one old track, already almost fully drifted. I break trail to my knees, the dog ahead eases the path a bit for me. Soon it gets completely dark, stars appear. Higher there is more snow, I break trail to mid-thigh. On the ridge towards Tošč the old track even turns towards Gontam, towards the summit it is still virgin. The dog's GPS worked very well today, where I was in doubt, the dog showed me the way. To the summit 3.5h, down another 1.5h (in normal conditions up and down in two hours).

You're right Janc, young at heart and soul, that counts, whether youth or older population. To make nice pictures, I see no need to go deep into hills, just need an "eye".
