Tošč

Today again a home one, idyllic snowy tour to the king of Polhograjci, if we subtract the tower on Pasja Ravan.
Start at parking Trnovec and straight up via Omejc farm to top. Path less trodden, snow up to knees and below already a bit crusty so it crunched nicely under feet, higher toward top remained completely dry. Today no talk of processions, but still quite a few of us gathered at top, also some early runners. In between there were also some snow showers periodically, higher fog and cold started appearing. For descent I showed buddy the fastest path to valley via Via Dide, which was a bit muddy and slippery down today, but nothing special.

Yesterday on circular path to Tošč. Of course start on Via Dida, which was planned for a long time, then across Mali Tošč, descent to hunting trail that crosses Tošč on south side, then up steep karst path to top of Tošč. Descent to Gonte and along nice panoramic road to car. Paths to Tošč are awesome, Via Dida is awesome, Polhograjci are awesome!

On Tošč there has been barely some cm of powder since morning.
I ascended via Via Dido, from the top first along the ridge towards Sv. Jederti, then on the new forest road where old snow persisted. It was below zero up there, tracks of one ahead of me. There was enough snow anyway that it winter-creaked under feet on the path velik nasmeh

From top along ridge path towards Sv. Jederti ca 30m, then slightly right to parallel ridge (visible path) all to bend of forest road that swings left to Logar, Dolinski mlin, we go right and downhill always keep right. Road finally leads to junction of roads from Gont, Kozjek, path over Omejca and Via Dido.

Tošč today above 900m bathed in warm sun rays. On top traditional Christmas tree with gift decorations that sparkled especially today in golden December sun. No visitors for such nice day except me, not even runners, alone in sun and views and slight rustle of south wind nasmeh

. Up via fast Via Didi, down over Omejca. Nice nearby tour that replaced Julijce due to missed forecast half day in clouds. HAPPY 2017!

Tošč is a hill you always return to once you conquer it, you can't help taking it as your own. Summit always has some visit, today noticed quite popular mayor there too nasmeh

, below summit also logbook. All paths to it are nice, most popular from Gont, from where hikers ascend who visited Grmada before, but my favorite is path from sv. Jederti. Soft, karstified, winds under old pines, usually more solitary.

These days, the Ljubljana basin is separated from the upper solarium by just one hour of walking.
I climb to Tošč from icy Rovtar on the north at -6.5°C. Further to Gont, the road is gritted and clear. Ridge M. Tošč to the top is snow-covered trodden with firm snow, icy in spots, crosses some bare patches on the south. Since the path is rough frozen, it doesn't slip much for descent. Top of Tošč sun warmed only 50 m ahead, in the distance noticed table-like islet of Pasje ravnine with radar dome. Not even speaking of at least 1h sunbathing, Finnish sauna velik nasmeh

Yesterday, in sunny and partly windy weather, we did a hike from Topol under Grmada, descent to Gonte, ascent to Tošč, return to Gonte, ascent to Grmada and back to start. On path to Tošč no other visitors, while on Grmada lots of traffic. Nice and interesting tour.

Afternoon ski touring to the windy Očak of Polhograjcev from Legastje up via the new summit forest road to the NW ridge.
Apart from one hiker who said that on Polh. Grmada the south wind roars a bit more, I only listened to the creaking of beeches around during the tour. Down some skiing, some on foot, otherwise a beautiful fitness tour nasmeh

Today to Tošč via "via Dida" - the path was trampled before the last snowfall, today I alone trampled anew or made footsteps. When I reached the path from Govejka to Tošč, it was already trampled, at certain spots wind drifted snow onto the track and covered it completely in places, otherwise no major issues.

The start, previous track visible under the newly fallen snow.

The road is quite firm in the lower section.

It sank about 30-40 cm, in places bent trees pose a minor issue.

Today, a shorter loop around Polhograjsko hribovje. From Legastja we went up the road to the tourist farm Gonte and on to Tošč. We returned over Gontarska planina and past Govejka. After a long time, it wasn't so hot again.

Today we went with our Tadej to Tošč. It was more of an autumn hike than a winter one. In between we also went to Mali Tošč. The upper part of the path was a bit icy, but nothing threatening. The summit never disappoints any year. Every year there is a little spruce here. Under the spruce there was even chocolate - thanks benefactors. Down we went then via the western path.
