JanezKog says: "... we find a long gravelly shelf." For me a completely unknown definition of shelf type. Can you describe what kind of shelf a "gravelly shelf" is? Thanks!

The shelf is not so narrow, but when you reach the overhang you step over the overhang. Before the overhang a peg is driven in. Here we went a couple of meters up then over the overhang.

Pic 43 is the shelf pictured from the little man behind the bend, then the overhang.

Ah yes, Janez, of course. I apologize, because I thought of everything else, only not a slip of the tongue.

Bravo miranm, you described it wonderfully. My buddy and I were there too, but early exit. We didn't exactly know where Freliha goes. Next time when someone is with us, next year. LP Dejan

On Friday (23.5.14) we set off from Aljažev dom in Vrata, through the Slovenian Route in the north Triglav wall, to Kredarica. On Saturday morning we also headed to the top of Triglav and returned to Vrata valley past Staničev dom and behind Cmir. The Slovenian Route is dry in the lower part and there's super climbing there In the upper part, however, the gullies are snowy, surrounded by steep slopes, and you need quite some experience. The snow was soft enough that we could make normal steps. From Kredarica we climbed via Mali Triglav to the top of Triglav. The path is partly dry, partly snowy. Chains are out in places and provide considerable help for walking. The whole ridge is quite narrow and we were lucky there was no strong wind. We started early, as when descending back down toward Kredarica, the snow was no longer as favorable, as it had hardened considerably. Past Kredarica we descended to Staničev dom and continued over beautiful snowfields behind Cmir. We spent two wonderful days and Triglav summit offered fantastic views Pictures from the trip can be seen on the website of Planinsko društvo Matica Murska Sobota: - first day: Vrata - Kredarica (via Slovenian Route in north Triglav wall): http://www.mojalbum.com/pdmaticams/20140523-slovenska-smer-cez-s-triglav-steno/velik-klin-pri-izhodiscu-v-vratih/21735546 - second day: Kredarica - Triglav - Kredarica - Dom Valentina Staniča - Vrata (behind Cmir): http://www.mojalbum.com/pdmaticams/20140524-triglav/jutranja-zarja-na-kredarici/21735668

I noticed that everyone walks at least five meters too high. A bit more and it'll go to the valley.
