O.K. I agree. Walking is never a problem, especially if you regularly and gladly go to hills and mountains. But I asked because I haven't hiked from this side of Stol yet, especially not in winter. nasmeh

serajko: well I know from where, my question was just provocation. If someone wants to drive to Valvazor, let them. The time is coming when it won't be possible to get to the hut with the steel horse anymore. If the path name is Žirovniška pot, it doesn't mean you must start from Žirovnica.

I'm wondering how many hours' walk it is from Žirovnica railway station to the Stol summit. I'm also wondering if the Prešeren hut on Stol is open every day in summer. Thanks

I've already got the answer. Serajko, next time better hold back, better write nothing than something like whatever, because you weren't any help to me. Have a nice day.

Today to Valvasor Lodge from Koroška Bela. I drove to the end of the village and left the vehicle there. I went over the little bridge of the Bela stream. It should be marked but I didn't see the marks. I walked somehow for some time along the stream, then by feel turned right. The path is poorly visible in places. It gets lost several times. Somehow I arrived at Potoška planina. From there it is marked to Valvasor Lodge. The hut had a lot of visitors. The road up is somewhat damaged according to reports. A day for enjoying the spring sun. I ate their strudel - excellent.

Does anyone know if Valvazor Hut is open on New Year's Eve? I'm also interested in Roblek Hut. Thanks in advance.

Both are open and have a New Year's Eve party, call Valvazor, yesterday it still had some space, Roblek has no reservations... if crowded then first come first served for the table mežikanje
