If you look a bit lower at current conditions in the Kamniške, you'll see that I described the Sunday trip to V. Baba from Jezersko. Best, Andrej

Yesterday despite rather poor weather on Baba. Briefly: Ferrata wet, quite fresh scree, here and there gnawed or slightly damaged protections, crossing 2-3 snowfields, ice axe recommended. Also on descent over Jezersko saddle still some snow. Overall in 'upper floors of Jezersko' still quite some snow.

Nice tour Rok, suitable for summer heat. For that horned animal you probably meant chamois. Today driving mom to sea near Umag, after five days going to Italy in between, so reporting to mountain friends a bit later.

At those two places where the cable is torn there is no problem, but caution doesn't hurt. Otherwise we were yesterday with a colleague up there and it was great. Nice mountain greeting!

Planning 26.06 to Czech hut. Overnight there and second day Sunday to Skuta or Great Baba. How much to Skuta and how much to Great Baba (via climbing path) from Czech hut? And how much time needed from Czech hut to Skuta via long ridge and back via Ledine and Kranjska hut? Possible in one day? Not too demanding?

Start at the cargo cable car station and along the Slovenian path to Ledine. From there onwards via the climbing path to Velika Baba. Path in excellent condition - watch out for falling rocks. Descent via the normal path over Jezersko saddle back to Ledine and down the hunting path to the valley.

Saturday morning, quick to the mountains due to the weather forecast. At the cargo cable car below Češka koča we leave the car and head towards Ledine. Up the Slovenian route, with the task of not using cables and climbing a bit our own way. Breakfast at the hut and then onwards to Baba. Same task here. No cables. First part crumbly, then in the vertical the rock is nice, solid and cleared of debris by yesterday's rain. At the top really nice views and realization that the weather is still holding. Then off to Ledinski vrh, but tried to conquer it from the north side. Since no passage found at the top, climbed back to the path, then to the summit. Then also to Špiček, on the way down sunbathing and picking tasty blueberries. With Ledi to Češka koča for jota and greet the warden Tone and then last moment to the valley so rain didn't soak us too much. Day to repeat. Andrej and Janez

@aljazek: You'll end up like Mihelič, who reached Triglav without arms (over the threshold, if memory serves ...)

Yesterday's route was quite strenuous for me. Together we walked (my pace) from 7:15 (parking under the waterfall) 12:30 (summit V. Baba) 15:20 (beer / Okrešelj koča) and then parking at 16:10. If you tackle Baba (very demanding) from this side you have lots of descents and ascents again. The very demanding path was at the beginning littered with debris and seemed more dangerous to me than later in the wall when climbing directly. Here the wall is compact, full of steps, holds and actually no problem to climb along the cable (as described above - andrejp). No need to fear something falling on your head. Protections in good condition. Weather super. First autumn signs already.. Cheers

No, no, I'll say something about V.Baba myself , I was up there today. Slept at Czech hut and for warming up tackled Žrelo, then past Kranjska hut via climbing path to the top. And indeed this Baba is one "orange" Baba, watch the scree on the ground as Geppo mentioned, and yes you sigh with relief when out from under the wall, then interesting secured ascent, a bit more and you're at the top. All its charms then [are shown by] the path continuing to and from Mala Baba to Jenkova planina. Guys, "stroll" here sometime, you'll see V. Baba is a piece of cake, haha (joke, don't tear me apart on this forum). From here the path along ridge visible from V.Baba, unsecured, crumbly, exposed, full of scree, especially steep descent from M.Baba... Among pines you breathe easier, path to Jenkova planina, couple turns through forest and in valley. Otherwise day cloudless again, crazy view from Bab top on KSA, Karavanke, Julians... nice day
