Okrešelj-Mala Baba-Velika Baba-Ledinski vrh-Okrešelj
Until 10am it was sunny, then cloudy and a bit drizzly. Nice path.

With colleague we were also yesterday on both Babas and Ledinski vrh, but from Jezersko. Weather still wonderful then, later when we continued to Rinke it clouded over, towards Skuta already raining and windy. We crossed Dolgi hrbet and returned via Češka koča.

So that Baba doesn't get overlooked unjustly in praises of Thursday. Also in KSA this time a day from calendar, as ordered. Up via Jenkova planina. Shepherd warns of a slightly nervous ram of the herd grazing on Golem vrh (do I need to add anything, rams anyway ). Then on planina right, along ridge, then down via secured path to koča na Vadinah, descent through Žrelo to car. Two completely different paths. For lovers of views, nature, greenery and narrow ridges I recommend my ascent path, for lovers of scree, cables and pegs, the descent. For me the order was excellently chosen, everything passed too quickly in enchanting day and excellent company.

The secured path from Ravenska Kočna through Žrelo and further past the hut to the summit of Velika Baba is quite loaded. Despite care yesterday on descent we triggered quite some stones. Helmet obligatory.

Today morning from Ledin through Žrelo to Kranjska koča, from there via climbing path to Velika Baba and over Mala Baba along the ridge to Jenkova planina. From planina to parking at lower cargo cableway station. Path through Žrelo nice (new cables), on climbing you get a bit fed up with pegs and cables. Weather a bit too hot, tour nice and interesting.

Tinky, very demanding climbing. Where did you photograph that little flower - is it really bushy bellflower and I haven't seen it this year yet, though I've covered a lot.

It's like on a bike, when riding with helmet on the handlebars. Important that it is visible that we have it. In such cases I'd rather see you without than putting it in backpack or on handlebars.

Hello! Explanation about the helmet - first thanks for the well-meaning advice about the helmet! That's me in that picture, also in the third Tinky picture, where I have the helmet dutifully (red, as seen also in the backpack) on the backpack. Before climbing under the overhang I took it off, because there was a small chance something would "fall" and it was hot . Small risk...otherwise I'm diligent

13.11.2011 we started from Logarska via Okrešelj to Savinjsko sedlo and via Jezersko sedlo down to Ledine. From Ledine via the secured path which was completely dry to V.Baba. From the top we went down the easier path which turned out worse because partly covered with snow. Snow was icy so we had to use winter gear or go over loose scree. From Jezersko sedlo we turned left and climbed Storžek, the only peak in Kamniške fully in Austria. Down via the secured path which is snowy (icy) at one place, rope under snow.

Yesterday my wife and I were at V. Baba. Climbing path from Ledine is dry and bare. Normal path on Austrian side partly snowy - hard snow or scree, ice axe welcome. Greetings all!

Yesterday visited Velika Baba - quite a lot of snow, ice on top, at certain places especially exposed on ridge a bit dangerous as it was quite slippery. From Ravenska Kočna via climbing and back over ridge 4h.

Yesterday we headed there from the parking under Karničarjev center. Before entering the "Slovenian" we easily crossed the snow patch and geared up. Almost the entire secured part is dry. Key is the exit, where the gully is filled with snow. Through the crack between it and the rock, with the help of the ice axe, we climb it. To the hut there are still some small non-problematic snow patches. From the hut to the start of the secured path there is a bit more snow, but it did not sink excessively. On the path further there are some small snow patches and lots of scree falling from Ledinski vrh, so a helmet is needed. To the summit there are no problems. Since Ledine are still quite snowy, we decide for descent via the unsecured ridge. Follows some adrenaline climbing on dry rock. Later snow patches we try to avoid more due to the late hour and high temperature (sinking to knees) . The path further is varied but dry... past Jenkova planina to Karničarjev center, where we meet Dava (besides ladybug, chamois, roe deer and mouse the only living soul that day)... a few words, and through the center to the car.
Tour of all superlatives... really for the soul. Recommend (to experienced).

Exactly the same picture today too... Only car at parking, didn't meet anyone even to Ledine let alone on Babas. Excellent choice, only wind bothered us.
