The weather turned out much better than forecasted (and the morning downpour in Ljubljana), but how can one know in advance? Plan C tour was from Ravne towards Križevnik and then through the enjoyable shaggy labyrinth further past the Maidens to the other three prominent ones. The two Great Peaks were unexpectedly marked (double) and with plenty of visitors. Excellently used almost-cancelled day.

Trail is dry.jezik

October is the most beautiful month for mountains for me, yesterday's day just confirmed it. Despite wonderful weather, no visitors anywhere, even Ojstrica peak was lonely. This time to Great Peak via eastern gully, a bit windy at the top, then to shelter of S slopes to enjoy the sun.

I agree with "most beautiful month" for mountains!
Also on the other side of the valley we met no one yesterday.

Although we expected a nice calm autumn day, getting out of the car at planina Podvežak sobered us properly. Cold wind awaited us, and not much of the forecasted clearness was visible. We warmed up a bit along the way, and wind eased towards Molička planina as path runs in slight lee. Before planina we turned right up to Great Peak. As steepness grew, so did wind strength. On top strong wind joined by cold and fog offering views only occasionally. Highest peaks in fog all the time. Luckily stone pyramid on top just big enough for some shelter from wind. On descent decision to extend to chapel at Molička planina and ring for luck. At least sun rays broke fog more concretely on return.

Similar to @pohodni, we froze at Planina Ravne, but the windbreaker was needed, a bit higher in the forest it was superfluous. Clearness accompanied us all the time, but one could sense it would be much colder on the last peak. Ojstrica didn't open at all, towards Koroška it was clear all the time. On unmarked paths we ascended and descended today. Occasionally with a slight fight with brushwood, but let it be. Sometimes it's the only grip on the path and then it pays off. From Planina Ravne first to Planina Poljšak, which is renovated and cleaned since my last visit, it now breathes. After a short rest first to Križevnik, then under Poljske device to Molička peč. Here the wind already showed its muscles and made our ears cold. After a short descent back up to Velika Zelenica and Veliki vrh. These two peaks were more flying, we took a short rest a bit behind the edge, where it was almost pleasant. Followed the descent via gully to marked path, then return via Planina Dolge trate back to start. No snow anywhere, on Planina Ravne horses grazed in the afternoon. Nice circular tour of peaks, three two-thousanders and three nice lonely planinas.

Today a wonderful sunny day. From plRavne to Križevnik, then to Molička peč and on to Vel.Zelenica and Vel.Vrh. Wind in gusts so strong that it literally moved those of us under 80 kg. Otherwise a very nice tour, real enjoyment.

Hi
Has anyone been these days from pl. Ravne to Veliki vrh? What's the road like and what's the snow?
Thanks and best regards, Grega

Plowed to Planinšek farm, to Planina Ravne tracks from snowmobiles and skis.
On Sunday 23.2 I was on skis to the turnoff for Križevnik. Further for now too dangerous, lots of snow, drifts, avalanches everywhere...

On Thursday (26.6.2014) we did a circular tour: Planina Podvežak - Prag - Sedelce - Veliki vrh - Molička planina - Prag - Planina Podvežak.

The eastern path to Veliki vrh still has some snow patches, which are not difficult as you can avoid them on the slope. The summit gave us a beautiful view of the neighboring beauty Ojstrica velik nasmeh

You can see more photos from the tour on the website of the Mountaineering Association Matica Murska Sobota: http://www.mojalbum.com/pdmaticams/20140626-velika-zelenica-in-veliki-vrh-veza/izhodisce-pri-planini-podvezak/21797511

In the morning, still in cloudy weather and on wet terrain from previous days, start at planina Ravne.
First to Veliki vrh and Vel. Zelenica, then descent to Molička planina and to Mojca in the hut on Korošica for tea.
Return over Vrtače and Dolge trate to the starting point. Some sun, some rain, a bit of everything. The path is of course muddy and churned by cattle.mrk pogled
As for the road, it is nice that they are preparing it for asphalt, which should reach Planinška.nasmeh

On Saturday morning in the fog, start at planina Ravne. Ahead to Veliki vrh and Velika Zelenica, the fog started retreating, then descent to Molička planina. There a deserved snack and martinčkanje in the warm sun. The path is marked. I recommend. Nice regards
