Veliki vrh (Veža), Velika Zelenica, Molička peč

Print
Sorok23. 08. 2015 13:55:49
Yesterday I set off from planina Podvežak on a full-day trip to Veliki vrh (Veža), Velika Zelenica, Molička peč, back to V. Zelenica, Korošica and visited all three summits of Lučkega Dedca. On the return I got a bit lost, ended up on (to me) an unknown summitzmeden and returned to pl. Podvežak.
Weather mostly sunny with "wandering"velik nasmeh clouds, also foggy in the morning. On Veža and V. Zelenica I put on hat and gloves in the morning due to the cold north wind, which later calmed down. Path initially a bit damp, later dry. Many hikers and probably fans too, as on Korošica they even "played football".

Today's visit to Veliki vrh and Velika Zelenica was dry in the forenoon, later it started to drizzle, but before the real rain I was already on dry ground. velik nasmeh

Can anyone spot the new Jamarski bivouac?8
If there were some sun today, the larches would also glow, but as it is...9

Call to all hikers!
In our mountains the number of freely moving dogs is increasing every year, which by regulations should be leashed, last year a bitch I know, Benča from Logarska dolina in Korošica bit a sheep to death, this year dogs have chased sheep several times. Sheep owners have big problems with herding to the valley, because sheep are scattered across the whole area.
DOG OWNERS! DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH EVEN IN MOUNTAINS!

Dindo, they are not dangerous only for sheep and wildlife. Also for a hiker it's not pleasant if some bigger dog rushes at you, since you don't know if a dangerous or friendly dog is coming. We don't all know how to judge the character of the dog approaching us from afar.

Irresponsible dog owners!
Almost everyone says; our dog is used to animals, then it runs away and the owner doesn't even know what the dog does in between.
This year we had all sheep on Planina Ravne the day before roundup. In the afternoon a lady came with a dog, the shepherd warned her about the sheep, after a hundred meters of walking she let it loose and the sheep fled to Veliki vrh, some are still up there because they were totally scared!

Dindo, I completely agree. Just a little addition to your post: "Almost everyone says; our dog is used to animals AND IS NOT DANGEROUS, then it runs away ...

My experiences are different - in all these years I've been visiting mountains, I've met many unleashed and leashed dogs, but never felt threatened, nor remember any dangerous scene.
I have seen people panicking unnecessarily when meeting dogs.
From what I've seen, vast majority of dog owners behave completely responsibly and watch what their four-legged do.

Just before Planina Ravne we emerged from the foggy sea. Above it sun, golden larches, blue sky, peaks whitened with new snow.

Metod took vacation, hasn't been to Veliki vrh and Velika Zelenica yet, so we went. Skipped Molička peč. Left car a bit lower, road quite snowy. Above Planina Podvežak rising sun offered great views of snowy surroundings. In drifts snow to knees and more. Trail hard to follow, so we went our own way a bit. From junction to V.vrh without crampons and ice axe not walkable. Strong wind on top, to consider this season. Had sun, new snow, ice, fog, still nice. On return saw fresh ski tourer tracks, not him.
