This time we went only to the Stone Hunter, because we saw Višarje just a good week ago. The pilgrimage path was soft this time and quite muddy. The continuation towards Stone Hunter also serves up wet snow suitable only for snowshoes and touring skis. Same in the summit part, although it's mostly shaded in winter time. (13.8.2024) After some off-trail hikes we decided for the approach to Stone Hunter from Cold Waters (Riofreddo) as they call it. Parking is quite soon after the little bridge. At Predel there was border control. They checked our documents. A driver with Serbian plates passed by. They sent him on. Doesn't matter anyway. The path is marked all the way. Path no. 615 to Prasing saddle. That's what it says. Then in the last steep part 618. Somewhere there is the branch to Višarje. Anyway, you won't get lost. Descent past the meadow below Višarje is also marked. 612 a. First time all three of us from this side. It's scenic. The last part is somewhat demanding. Fixed ropes help. We had to wait a bit because a scout group was descending. The summit seems well visited. We descended towards Višarje. Once there, we also checked out the village and went to the church. On the path from Stone Hunter there was a bigger rock yesterday that had moved for someone. It's positioned so that it will roll down. Just as we were descending, a helicopter came for someone who was injured or feeling ill. We didn't know. It seemed odd to us because he was sitting on the path. Some people around him. At Višarje crowds as usual. We just went through. All inns were occupied and full of tourists who had come up by gondola. Beer is 5 euros. Pizza is cheaper than at home. 7 euros. We descended path 612a. Nice path. We crossed several streams. And reached the tree where pilgrims leave home-made crosses and pictures. We had nice weather all the way. And the last part of the path. We said let's go to Executioner's Lake. Yesterday there was a crowd like at the sea. Cars were parked all along the road. But no one got a fine. There was nothing better than to swim after a strenuous hike. 19 km and 1370 m elevation gain.

Hello. The chains looked fine. As for markings and everything related we had no problems at all. Only on descent via path 612a the terrain - path was wet and muddy from water flowing there in places. In my opinion it's overmarked so you can't miss it. Descent on the other side to Višarje where that rock is set up was a bit adrenaline-pumping. You felt like it would roll down any moment. O diligent. We saw it was mowed. Nice places and nature. nasmeh

Onwards to Kamniti lovec, they made a track and it was possible to reach the top without crampons, I had an ice axe. I looked also towards Višarje and just before dark went up there too. For the way back to the valley I used crampons.

Today on Lovec via Višarje and ski slope. Snow on the track continuously to the top starts around 1200m. Path from end of forest to start of gully quite frozen, so we struggled with skis to get through and back. In the gully good steps to the top.

Interesting to see that on Višarje everything is closed, no hospitality offer.
