This was quite an experience! Also for us who can admire such winter idyll on the photos that Franci shares with us. There behind Kačji rob it's really beautiful, in all seasons, for me the most beautiful area around Viševnik.
I remember one spring sitting back there
on a rock, the sun melting the snow, creating a little pond among the rocks, just right for soaking bare feet and daydreaming in broad daylight.

Hi,

today at Rudno polje on the path to Viševnik I found Alpine skis (white and blue). Since the hut was closed I took them and really hope the owner calls me at: 040/55-18-19.

Today went to Viševnik from Rudno Polje. Weather super, views fantastic.. No crampons needed for access, only gaiters as it sinks quite a bit in places.

I climbed to Viševnik from Rudno Polje. Midway the path was a bit muddy. I descended via the path over Kačji rob, there are a few small snow patches, but a very nice path.

Today overnight the snow line was around 1900m, but the snow melted by noon, though with wind it was quite cold at the summit.

As clouds around Triglav cleared, supply to all huts started from Rudno polje, which are opening today or tomorrow.nasmeh

Today on the route Rudno polje, Blejska koča, Viševnik, Rudno polje. Great day, quite a few hikers, it's getting hot even in the mountains.

Today a quick trip to Viševnik before work.
After a rainy night, wonderful day. A bit too crowded for my taste, so first days of vacation somewhere into solitude ...nasmeh

Yesterday I ascended Viševnik from Srednja vas. To the summit via unmarked path past the spring of Zlata voda, that path is currently quite muddy, descended via Srenjski preval.

Yesterday I swapped my beloved Karavanke and went to visit Viševnik, first time nasmeh
The path has no special features, personally I didn't find it strenuous, around 8am the sun was already scorching and the crowd was quite big, especially on the top. But the view makes up for it.
I'll definitely return, since I want to check out Mali Draški vrh too.

This evening I found a colorful headband or some kind of head strap on top of Viševnik. I hung it on the info board at the start of the path from Rudno polje.

Otherwise I did a pleasant circular tour via Kači rob, Srenjski preval and Mali Draški vrh. Afternoon temperatures were already more than bearable, most of the tour is in shade anyway.
