Early afternoon after scorching sun on Žabiški Kuk. I continue along the ridge. On Vogel I meet some others. Further along the ridge and below to Globoko and to Rušnati vrh. There towards west already thundering and I quickly return to Globoko to bivouac, where I wait for the storm to pass. Two foreigners waited in nearby military building. Two decided to descend before storm but below it washed them well, also quite some lightning, they found a cave lower down. Later I caught up with them. Before next storms already back at start, all the way home it was pouring, lightning.

On Vogel 20.2.2025. As usual we went from Tolminske Raven. Morning minus 6 degrees. It warmed up in that steep winter part where you reach the sign. There over 20 degrees. Towards summit a bit windy and cooler. Snow doesn't seem attached to ground yet. Snowballs formed. Where wind-packed it broke through. Didn't know conditions. On descent met two hikers heading to summit. Told them about conditions. We had track to entrance of winter route. There the one who probably hiked yesterday turned back. These days conditions different every day. No avalanches yet. Due to cold previous days. Probably will when warms up. Last part to summit carefully. Holes here and there and lots of snow. Views were great yesterday.

Last weekend children's mountaineering camp in Bohinj. For the main tour we take them to Vogel. On the longest day of the year in heat and scorching sun without much complaining 27 participants from 2nd to 9th grade reach the summit nasmeh

10.12.2025. It was a day like you can only wish for. Weather as forecast. We didn't know the conditions. But when you're there, you see. We went as usual. We used crampons quickly. Ice axe as usual where you enter the winter route. Just that we now chose a different gully to the sign. Snow was sinking due to strong sun. As usual when warmer at altitude. Last part to summit quite carefully. There were holes here and there. Since narrow ridge in places, need to watch out. On summit wind just lightly pulling. Views really nice. Just towards sea not visible. Yes, December can surprise with temperatures not wintery at all. Nice day behind us.
