Does anyone know anything about the current conditions on the path from Planina Razor to Vogel? Is there still snow or is it already normally passable?

Just before the ridge there is still 20 m of path in snow, crossing is very risky and nobody uses it. The snow can be bypassed on the upper side, but over crumbly terrain, which in my opinion changes the path from easy to demanding (I used hands for protection too). If you're careful, it can be bypassed without problem.

Praise to the team at Koča na Planini Razor, they have excellent food, such good dishes I rarely get in the mountains. I recommend to all enthusiasts!

Sunday, 22.06.14. Path from pl.Kuk via pl. Razor to Vogel completely dry. From Vogel via Vrh Krnic, Globoki and Vrh Planje and back to pl. Razor the same, no special features, only at Vogel summit the logbook is completely full - needs replacement, a few pics:

Does anyone know what the conditions are like on the path to Vogel from Ski hotel and onwards towards Šija?

Check the picture, what was visible, I think you have only a couple of crossings over snowfields, good to have at least an ice axe

Damjan, for the section Orlove glave-Vogel-Šija-Rodica-Ribčev Laz (Lake Bohinj) I needed 9 hours last year. From the SKI hotel add another 0.5 hours. Rodica-Črna prst are another 3 hours.
For the path Orlove glave-Rodica-Črna prst-Bohinjska Bistrica I needed 8 hours of walking without stops.

The entire path from SKI hotel to the top of Vogel, Šija, Rodica, Črna prst, Bohinjska Bistrica is about 10-12 hours. I haven't walked it in one piece yet. Otherwise everyone has their own walking rhythm. I'm more among the slow ones, especially because I take a lot of photos and enjoy every step.

Take your time and enjoy this exceptionally beautiful path too.

My trip last year is described in the link below. I can't wait to repeat it.

Damjan
I arrived by bus at 8:03 to the lower gondola station, went along this path and in Boh. Bistrica waited another good half hour for the train that leaves at 16:48.
Exactly as much as Miri wrote.

The younger daughter has long wanted to finally go to the mountains for two days again after a long time... And when I was looking for a nice option with a map in hand, my gaze stopped somewhere around Komna... and memories awakened and indescribable nostalgia gripped me... 6th grade of elementary school... one week Komna and surroundings... They called it "Mountaineering school" back then... And we quickly agreed.... We just ordered the weather and went...

On Friday (8.8.) by gondola to Ski hotel, then long traverse to Komna with intermediate ascent to Vogel... Pure poetry is this path... easy, scenic, flowery, and not too crowded, at least on Friday it was like that... when you just walk, enjoy, when your brain is at pasture, when nothing worries you, no snowfield, no difficult spot, no exposure, when you don't have to warn watch out here, careful there... In short, for the soul...nasmeh(We only looked at the sky here and there, just in case mežikanje... and stayed dry...nasmeh)
We comfortably took the lift into the clear morning above the sea of fog...1
The sky was still cloudless...2
Here we started...3
At the saddle below Šija...4
...we turned right towards Komna...5
Bunch of Bertolon's hawkweeds along the path...6
We decided we would also climb to Vogel...7
Secured ridgelet...8
Far behind us is already the ski slope...9
Last meters below Vogel summit...10
...and a bunch of edelweiss just below the summit...11
At the top...12
View to the coastal side...13
...and all the way to Krn, already wrapped in clouds...14
Continuation of the crossing...15
...all the way to Konjsko sedlo...16
View back...17
Spicate sedges on Konjsko sedlo...18
Two mouflons rushed across the snowfield...19
One kindly stopped and posed a little... :-)20
Below the saddle we encounter a Carniolan lily...21
...and yet another one...22
...and then we spot an entire stand...23
A little further on, the cousin martagon lily...24
Black mulleins are also blooming...25
...and along the path everything is yellow from bratinski košutnik...26
Beautiful view of Lake Bohinj opens up from the path...27
We got a pure Trenta feeling here...28
Flowering jungle along the path...29
And where there are flowers, there are butterflies... repični belin30
...and trnov repkar...31
Eye to eye... :-)32
And just when we thought we were almost there, the hut appears far away... :-)33
A bit zoomed in to see it better... :-)34
That was it for the first day... :-)35

Really nice description of the path with photos. I'm interested how much time you spent on this path and how old your children are? Mine will be seven and I'm interested because I'm also considering where around Vogel we could go. Did you go down the second day, or perhaps towards the Triglav Lakes? Best regards Borut nasmeh

Borut, we went with a 14-year-old, but I think age and experience on this easy and technically undemanding path don't play a crucial role. Besides, it's a "traverse" and there are no long and steep ascents and descents on the path. If the seven-year-old is somewhat "walked in" there shouldn't be problems. The ascent to Vogel is an "addition" here, even if you skip it, you're not significantly deprived of views on the path. And the path can be shortened a bit more with the help of the Orlove glave chairlift, which saves maybe 20-30 minutes and some altitude.

Hm... times... how "ungrateful" topic on hribi.net zavijanje z očmimežikanje. The marked direct path from Ski Hotel on Vogel to Komna should take 5 hours. If you take that as a "stage" for one day, then there's no rush anyway. Together with the ascent to Vogel you can roughly count on 6-7 hours of moderate walking. Our time was very "unevenly" distributed. To Konjsko sedlo we were faster than the "official" timetable because we feared possible afternoon thunderstorms, then the closer we were to Komna, the slower we went, stopped a lot and "experimented" with photographing flowers and butterflies and other insects nasmeh. 

The next day we did this loop: Komna – Planina na Kraju – Bogatinsko sedlo – Bogatin – Mahavšček – Vrh Škrli – Planina Govnjač – Komna – Savica.

Good luck on the path! nasmeh

Nina wanted to climb, I wanted to cycle or go to some via ferrata, then we decided for a super panoramic experience. By gondola to Vogel (today there was a race on Vogel), then across pl. Zadnji Vogel to the mountain Vogel, which was quite visited, then we descend towards the west, under Globoka and continue to Konjsko sedlo. From there we ascend to Škrbina and look towards Tolmin side, from where mists start to chase. We turn left and with the help of chains to Vrh nad Škrbino. A bit of sun a bit of fog alternate as we continue the ridge traverse towards Meja and Rušnat vrh. Then Vrh nad Planjo, then down across Globoki back to the marked path and along the lower path past the former tavern to Zadnji Vogel. The seventh hour of walking was the hardest and we barely waited for the Ski hotel. While waiting for the gondola we wondered how many km we walked, because usually we go more vertically, today there weren't so many altitude meters as length. I would be grateful to connoisseurs for at least approximate mileage..velik nasmeh

From Tminske ravne, past Planina Razor to Vogel hunting for sunset. I caught it at the saddle... The snow was quite softened by the sun, but right after sunset it started freezing quickly (at least higher up). The north side is of course another story....there it's winternasmeh (photos unfortunately not in order...)

Once again it turned out that forecasting the weather for the Upper Bohinj Mountains despite the supercomputer at ARSO is often too much of a challenge. For Friday, 10.7.2015, clear skies without a cloud were forecasted until 14:00, then only slight cloudiness. In reality, the sun shone only in sparse glimpses until 14:00, and the peaks were shrouded in dense clouds. After 14:00, contrary to the forecast, the sky around Triglav began to clear.

Due to the lack of views, I lost inspiration for hiking and from the planned triplet Vogel-Šija-Rodica I only walked the first two. I returned via the ski slope to the Ski Hotel and then along the mountain path to Ribčev Laz. Right at the beginning I strayed from the right path and came to some vacation houses, where a friendly local directed me to the correct path (uphill past the houses, then along a wide path or poorer road a few meters to the right and then left downhill to the trough or faucet, where I joined the mountain path. The path is otherwise well marked and I had no problems further on. This descent from the Upper Boh. mountains also requires concentration until the last step. Stones mix with soil and leaves, after heavy rain a few days ago it was still quite wet. The path runs through the forest, mostly on a trail, some also on narrower cart tracks. In the lower part it continues on a macadam road and joins the asphalt road under the Bellevue Hotel. To Ribčev Laz and Lake Bohinj it's just a few minutes walk.

More comments under the photos.
