There you can also get cheese and honey.
Up on the Škrbina slab there's a nice passage, directly up the gully, if conditions are right.

On Saturday with my partner we hiked this direct route. From Tolminske Ravne already quite late we quickly bite into the steepness. Heat doesn't let up until the last quite steep part where the breezes still cool the overheated bodies a bit. No snow on this path anymore. We didn't meet a single hiker. For hikers who don't like crowds and are rewarded for the summit with wonderful views all around, this is an excellent choice. I recommend. On the way back a stop with beer at the hut on Planina Razor.nasmehIce cream a bit later in the valley.mežikanje

Peak above Škrbina 29.06.2021. In Tolminske Ravne we started hiking and turned a bit higher at the right junction. Along a quite steep path where faded markings are visible. Continuation on scree towards Škrbina saddle. Met some hikers. One already descending because he's in a hurry for afternoon shift. Two going further to Tolminski Kuk. First time on this path. Quite interesting. The nicest is the climbing part to the top of Škrbina where nice views awaited us. Behind us came another hiker - Styrian, nice to chat with him. No Gorenjci seen. We descended back to Škrbina saddle and continued under peaks Vrh Konte 2014m and under Podrta gora 2061m. Some go up there too. We didn't decide to. But we went to Zeleni vrh 2052, where you go up in passing. And along the ridge or path to Tolminski Kuk. Descent to planina Kal and to the start. Windy on peaks and saddle. Also cooled down. Day quite interesting. Now lots of flowers decorating the paths.
In Tolminske Ravne. Mice are plentiful. The cats are probably already full of them.1

Is the trail from Tolminski Kuk via Migovec and Kal pasture marked? I tried from Tolminske Ravne to Migovec a few years ago, but turned back due to snowfields on the S side of Migovec.

In dry conditions the path from Kal pasture is clearly visible. From Tolminski Kuk to Migovec too. Cairns help.

Last ascent this year to a two-thousander without winter gear... bora didn't spare us, but it was nice anyway

Up the climbing route, dry path, protections ok, before that above Bohinj to Mohor peak, more in Mohor thread.

From Škrbina to the summit, one peg holding the rope is pulled out, so caution is advised.

Yesterday 8.8.2023 Podkuk-Peak above Škrbina-Globoko-Podkuk

Start at 7am from completely empty parking lot and onwards to pl. Razor where we had a snack. To Peak above Škrbina via direct path which is well traceable and also well maintained with some steps. On the summit it was a bit windy and quite cold. Views were mostly good, except the highest peaks were covered in fog. Continued to Meja, Vrh Hribcev and Rušnati vrh and arrived at bivouac Globoko, which was unlocked. There we ate something and headed back to the car. In the end it added up to 16km and 1200m elevation gain.

@ fapo how's the traceability or beaten path from peak above Škrbina to Meja or further to bivouac Globoko? Was there a couple days ago on peak above Škrbina and saw beaten fully marked trail towards Globoko ridge. Lp

To Rušnati vrh like in a fairy tale, then down to the bivouac, a bit worse but can be found without problems. (picture 16)

If no really bad vertigo, the whole traverse to Globoko pass can be done without issues, mainly along the ridge. On pic 14 passages are clearly visible, that path on west slope towards bunker is routed through terrain unpleasant at least for me.

Thanks to both for the reply. I took my wife so I was afraid to explore as nowhere on the map did I see a marked path nasmeh We went down to Škrbina then around on the Bohinj side to Globoko pass. Wonderful lonely places next time along the ridge mežikanje best regards Marko

19.12.2023. Now road on that part to Tolminske Ravne is fixed. Where left unfinished recently. We went usual path from Raven. There past planina Razor. Found summer path. Already eyed that known steep snow part from afar before. Footprints visible. Someone up there probably previous day. All avalanched too. Warm on path. But below summit cold wind from Bohinj direction. Didn't stay long on top. Nice bench brought up. Previous worn out. Descended ascent path. Met no one. Tour with big T for views. And fitness demanding due to steepness not relenting to summit.

Hi,

asking experts opinion on direct - steep path from Tolminske Ravne to Škrbina (marked on pic). Normally passable?

This year on vacation would tackle Vrh nad Škrbino from that side with kids, but don't want them lose motivation at start if path too overgrown, fallen trees across, etc.

Basic idea up this and loop over Razor back, no detour 2x Razor.
