Interesting article where an Englishman details the 2015/16 winter forecast for Europe, which will somehow be quite rainy with moisture and fewer dry cold periods. For 17 December he predicts turbulent events of an extensive cyclone that will come from the north and persist for quite some time across Europe and will be very strong (snow storms, glaze). As he says, there will be quite some precipitation over the winter, but decisive will be how high it will snow constantly, because apparently the snow line will shift a few hundred meters higher than usual. Let's wait for the saints who will predict winter by decades. First among the saints, St. Michael already on 29 September predicts what kind of winter it will be. If it's nice and sunny on St. Michael's, a harsh winter awaits us and vice versa.

From midweek to Thursday, stronger rain is expected across Slovenia.
According to forecasts, the bulk of snowfalls will be at around 2200-2300m, at the end of the precipitation it will snow to 1600m too. Up to half a meter of snow is expected at that height, nights after the front in the mountains well below freezing.

"Wizards from Šlogar ARSO center" say that the situation in the mountains will cool considerably. So above 2500m also below zero. In Upper Sava valley snow to 1400m, elsewhere between 2300 and 2100m. So visiting the Dleskovec plateau is a good choice. Visibility will probably be better than in summer, when little is visible. Now there will probably be fewer postings of mountain achievements on fejstbuk, since snow is coming and sneakers will no longer be suitable for high mountains. I've heard that this is very modern now and even those you couldn't get off the couch with a forklift are going. Sarcasm aside, I think it will be a nice weekend for visiting the mountains, though not too warm. Last year it was warmer, if I remember correctly. Snow will probably be earlier this year. Sometimes there is none until November. Now the time of seasonal orange and red alerts is coming. After last year's medieval trip, these alerts don't faze me much, as when it's serious there are usually no such alerts.

In the Julian Alps (high altitude) up to 30cm+ of snow has fallen. Snow line temporarily down to 1500m. So according to forecasts. KSA and Karavanke therefore probably without snow?
