Otiv, you must repeat Velkavrh, it's goat cherry, specifically purging buckthorn or purging goat cherry (Rhamnus cathartica). Goat cherry=buckthorn We have quite a few species of buckthorns: common buckthorn (Rhamnus frangula), dwarf goat cherry (Rhamnus pumilus), branched goat cherry (Rhamnus saxatilis), Kranj goat cherry (Rhamnus fallax).....lp

Otiv, no. 20 is three-leaved bittercress. Where exactly were you so enthusiastic about the unforgettable narcissi?

Thanks, @zlatica. Don't you know the Rovte under Golica?

There really are a lot of them, I think more than the fingers on our hands.

velkavrh, nice flowers you found. Alpine bellflowers are a real embellishment, 22 is really exceptional, like a satellite antenna. Nice of you to often mention some special feature of the flower by which you recognize it or it differs from similar species, like e.g. fragrant saxifrage.

Good morning! Yes saxifrages are demanding to identify. In Slovenia as many as 36 species grow with some subspecies. Among yellow ones it's not hard to separate the bastard and fragrant ones, as they have different leaves. Fragrant one I saw only in Croatia at Klek. Meadow one is abundant all over our meadows - it's poisonous. Dried, it doesn't harm livestock, as toxins are destroyed by drying. In shade in moist and also in mid-mountains in such conditions we find hairy saxifrage. Creeping one we have around house as annoying weed. Higher saxifrages are already problem to identify. That's about yellow ones. I'm more excited by white species. Interesting is the one floating in Double Lake at hut At Triglav Lakes - that's hairy-leaved water saxifrage. Often we see Traunfellner's. Alpine and Seguier's we find in Karawanks. I apparently haven't seen them yet. Glacial and sorrel-leaved don't grow here and some more lower whites that Hoppe mentions in his handbook I have. Of higher ones we mainly see plane-leaved which is common. Saxifrages I think I presented in pictures once last year or year before.

Zlatica, oh! That wood bittercress is actually alpine bittercress. Bittercress leaves are more roundish and toothed, grow on the stem too. Next to flowers seed pods are quickly visible. nice pictures!

These bittercresses confused me a bit. Yes, it's alpine bittercress. Haven't seen it this year yet.

Anyway, Apolonija and Branko, thanks to both, since in collaboration there is strength and knowledge. I then went to look in Flora Alpina, but the height of bittercress didn't match for me, since this my flower was really only 3-4 cm high, and flowers were clustered in a cushion like some low alpine plant, only much more fragile. Bittercress wasn't similar to that. Important is that it got sorted out.. With all this studying and searching you just remember the flower even better.

Zlatica, you said it nicely and I agree with you. Brane, yes it is. Lately bittercresses were present every day in nature, pictures and thoughts and when you see 4 petals, sometimes it's hard to "switch".

otiv, Burser's saxifrage pulls me like I don't know what. I somehow don't have luck to see it in such abundance. Years ago I saw a nice bunch on Storžič, but the photo was really bad. Last years I haven't seen it on Storžič. Maybe I miss it here because it blooms far ahead as the first among saxifrages, only the wedge-leaved one catches up somehow. Last year I found only a few poor flowers under Vodnik's hut. Tinky photographed it on Storžič a day or so ago. I'll see if we see it on Brinica on Saturday if weather doesn't cross our plans - forecast isn't very promising.

I see I'll have to go to Ratitovec. Burser's saxifrage tempts me too (Saxifraga burseriana). Otiv, where the question mark is, it's five-lobed hemp-nettle. Regards
