On the first pic it's hellebore, on the second trumpet flower. The third-last also looks familiar...

Well, you rambler whose girls stole your time ...... I expected photos of ganks, gautr ..... not flowers. You "picked" these when missing geography classes? 1. Black hellebore - Helleborus niger 2. Spring crocuses - Crocus vernus 3. Giant snowflake - Leucojum vernum By the way, how does spring crocus differ from the autumn one?

Irina, what would Ganke photograph now when there are no flowers, girls seeking shelter in huts. Thanks for all the flower names. I don't know crocus differences, except that the autumn one is poisonous and grows year-round and blooms in autumn, the spring one blooms first then grows.

On the last two Velkavrh's photographs there is sturdy sedge, the mullein however is white.

lynx 16.3.2012 Thanks for pointing out my carelessness. Autumn meadow saffron - Colchicum autumnale. Spring crocus has only three stamens and belongs to the iris family. Saffron is a precious and expensive spice, so traders often cheat and add something cheaper. Test; fake saffron immediately releases yellow/red color when put in water, while real one takes some time to discolor and the taste is characteristic only for it. Autumn meadow saffron always has six stamens and belongs to the lily family. With meadow saffron we must be careful, the seed contains alkaloid colchicine which is very poisonous. Approximately five grams of seed contain about two hundredths of a gram of colchicine and that can be a lethal dose for an adult. The bulb is also poisonous. Enjoy the awakening spring and protect our flowers.

Truly everything blooms, new life is born, with it come worries, how to await autumn days. It is similar with people, who are always worried, the remedy is flowers and mountain trails.

Excellent Otiv, perfect truth, only among flowers and mountain paths we gain new strength. And yet one more rarely seen high-mountain flower.
