otiv: No4.- bunch cornel is impossible to distinguish from berry cornel by flower. It is distinguished by leaves and only that way can we determine the species. no5.- is common cuckoo orchid. no.7- this is Tommasini's cinquefoil. This grows in Primorska. I even have it in the rock garden. I brought it from Vremščica. no. 9- in Primorska grows Pyrenean bird's milk, which is very similar to clumpy one. no.12- for this lungwort we can't say it's the common one. It has no spots on leaves. Very similar to narrow-leaved lungwort is scarlet-blue bird seed and this is common in Primorska and mix-up possible.

When I wrote I didn't know yet that you were there yesterday. Today I went by car over Lipe and saw a parked car and that's why I thought maybe it was you.

Dear ones, now I see what beauty I'm missing on the forum and in nature. I haven't checked in with you for quite a while. I'll make amends because I miss you. Zlatica, nice that you believe in me, but I have to learn from you too. Quite laically I say that I recognize lungworts easier live than in pictures. If I'm not exactly in Styria, the difference between common and narrow-leaved doesn't trouble me. Narrow-leaved has such beautiful blue flowers and sessile narrow leaves. Otiv posted a nice specimen on the previous page. Styrian, disregarding other features, has such pronounced white spots that they really catch the eye. I'll walk around the garden and take pictures. Brane, you're really an expert on little flowers, but sometimes you write a bit too fast. I mean bird's milk. "On Primorska grows Pyrenean bird's milk which is very similar to clubby", you say. Pyrenean grows everywhere, also here in Gorenjska. It reminds me of nothing like clubby, but broad-fruited bird's milk. On karst meadows Koch's bird's milk grows. And hard to say, otiv, which one you photographed, Koch's or clubby.

We'll have to "process" lungworts a bit more. On "Zaplana" it equates southern lungwort (Pulmonaria australis) with narrow-leaved lungwort, which is Latin-named Pulmonaria angustifolia. They are related, but differ in genetic makeup. Some consider southern a subspecies of narrow-leaved....

Actually I wasn't on Primorska - it grows at my home.

Nice pale yellow coralroot you have at home and the five-fingered orchid isn't from flies either!

This little flower has no leaves, since I didn't see them. Which flower is this? I found it below Menina planina... in the forest, the lighter one.

It's three-leaved penuša - quite common. We find it all over Slovenia in shady - usually beech forests.
