Cheers, Brane... do you think primroses change color... namely, if memory serves me I saw rehlikan primroses on Struska years ago. I'll look back at my trips a bit. There were huge pink umbellifers and one prettier than the other. Lots of Zlatice too... sometimes all yellow from them.

Otiv, is your pink umbellifer greater burnet-saxifrage?

Zlatica, I'll be happy if it's really greater burnet-saxifrage. I'll attach the green leaf too.

Otiv, it is greater burnet-saxifrage. And no.12 is alpine willow. I always admire it. About a week ago we were just talking about it.

Here we found the burnet-saxifrage. To me it's a very pretty umbellifer! Lots on Črna prst.

otiv, regarding burnet-saxifrage. We have greater burnet-saxifrage (Pimpinella saxifraga) and common burnet-saxifrage (Pimpinella major). Don't know if I'd distinguish them, as they are very similar. Similar flowers both chervils have too. More similar is Villar's chervil (Chaerophyllum villarsi - also Alpine chervil. Already at Orožnova hut on meadow under Liščec and then on path to hut on Črna prst all pink. More common is common chervil - somewhat same growth, white umbel flowers later color pale pink. All listed flowers belong to umbellifers. Regarding primroses from Karavanks. I think they are rehlikan primroses. Light maybe made such colors. There are hybrids between orchids and primroses in Julians too. Such hybrid I found on Črna prst near Četrti pass.

Branko, good topic and dilemma you've raised, both mentioned kobulnici are really similar and hard to separate for us amateurs. Since you referred to Črna prst, which I mentioned too, I'd say you're right, that trebelje is really native there and not bedrenec; I had in memory only the nice pink flowers that decorated the meadows on top of Črna prst. Anyway, for at least approximate determination you need to have the leaf in front of your eyes too. Adding pictures of this pink kobulnica from a few years ago from Črna prst and next to it also a picture with leaves, which are different from the bedrenec that Otiv photographed. Sadly in the booklet Rastlinstvo Črne prsti there's only one photo by Peter of Villarovo trebelje, where the leaves aren't seen very well. But if I compare this my picture of leaves with the picture from Flore Alpine, I'd say this one of mine is probably really Villarovo trebelje. What do you think Branko, Otiv and Polona or someone else knowledgeable?

Please help with plant names from wanderings in the mountains above Sorica. It's a real flower garden. But I posted only photos of flowers for which I'm not sure if I name them right or don't know the name. Thanks in advance for effort and help

Golden leopardbane should be on picture 1, on both others rock hawkweed. On picture 3 there's also one interesting flower, probably one of the rockcresses.

Zvonček, on pictures 5,6,3 is hostov kamnokreč On picture 1 in second part is large-flowered foxglove On picture 1 in first part is large yellow kobulček, just opening flowers. On picture 2 is Jacquinov čistec On picture 4 is vrbolistni primožek. On picture 10 is klobčasta zvončica.

Zvonček, on second part on picture #3 you have hostov kamnokreč. With us grow two subspecies, easiest to separate them by leaf rosettes. But this is our highest growing kamnokreč. Leaf rosettes like to hide in shade. On picture #2 -second part not skalni grint-it was already presented. This yellow tall flower belongs to škržolice, which are hard to separate, well at least most. Easiest determine hairy škržolica, with hare's-leaf one we'll already have trouble. Morisovo, dense-haired, dissected I can't separate anymore. We have also many lower growing like long-haired, whitish and also alpine. Yes this genus of hawkweeds is demanding for recognition.
