Hello! I too am a big lover of mountains and alpine flowers, despite my advanced age I still like to go to the hills, of course with my indispensable photo equipment and I photograph, photograph .... preferably little flowers. Then at home identification follows, which doesn't always work out. While looking for help for an unknown flower I came across this wonderful forum where I have already found many answers. Today I attach a photo of a flower which I suspect belongs to thistles. If anyone recognizes it, I'll be happy. Hello! Inserting the image doesn't work for me somehow, so I attach a link to the image: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-NMxN58ZUck4/UA7JB21gzvI/AAAAAAAAUqQ/pdA2hhnY9iE/s720/IMG_4302.JPG

@Rak Probably the handsome thistle. With plants where you're already in doubt on site with determination, photograph all parts of the plant. Important is the shape of leaves, hairiness of leaves and stem etc ... so there are never too many photos. Handsome thistle: http://www.petersfoto.si/displayimage.php?pid=2922

@peter2 - I too have already decided on that, given how important details sometimes are. Thanks for the answer.

This little flower grew yesterday on the path to Škrlatica, soon after the start, by the scree path. There was only one. Among the pictures it was most similar to the tufted bellflower, but its inflorescence is smaller, leaves smooth and sharp... maybe it's some other?

Lidija Jesih, it is tufted bellflower, just had poorer growing conditions and didn't grow higher. But it has such leaves. L.P.

It depends on where it was photographed. If it was photographed in KSA, it's really kamniška. But I think it's bicolored, previously called red. This grows only in Julijcih. For kamniška it is characteristic that it is lighter, whitish below and has a more round flower. Kamniška grows only in KSA. This year I saw huge numbers of them on Kamniško sedlo. Unfortunately, the photos didn't turn out at all.

Yes, Kamniška murka grows in some places in Karavanks. Habitat is right. But such strong, say red color is not usual for it. All those presented on various forums are whitish below.
