malenka, you wonderfully presented the little-known flower swertia to us. It seems we would look for it in vain here.

Thanks, Velkavrh, I think swertia grows on Pohorje here. I'm there too rarely and don't know the exact location, unfortunately. LP

malenka is spoiling us with her presentations of mountain and other flowers. We really missed this. This way there will be fewer dilemmas in identification. Definitely a beautiful thank you in the name of all flower lovers on this forum!

Yes, velkavrh, you correctly identified these of yours (maybe I even hinted at some of them myself some time ago), but I would slightly change your statement regarding the systematics. Legumes (Fabaceae) are a family that belongs to the order Fabales (besides it there are 2 more families: Polygalaceae and Mimosoideae). This family has 7 tribes, one of them is also Ononideae, which has genera Ononis, Trigonella, Melilotus, Medicago and Trifolium. On your photos are plants from different tribes (Lembotropis from tribe Genisteae, Coronilla and Onobrychis from tribe Coronilleae). Wood sorrel has nothing to do with legumes (it got the name because of the trifoliate leaves that resemble clover leaves). We are a bit misled by the fact that in Slovenian nomenclature the word "clover" appears also in other genera, not only for the genus Trifolium, of course there it has the appropriate adjective, so the genus name consists of two words, e.g.: sainfoin (Onobrychis). So, if we talk about clovers, it only refers to the genus Trifolium.

Thanks malenka! The systematics is indeed a bit complicated. Without Small flora of Slovenia I wouldn't understand the division. Yes -Fabales is the order of legumes. Legumes then divide into three families, one of the three is then the family of Fabaceae, which divide into seven subfamilies. In subfamily Ononideae there are five genera-Ononis-rest-harrow, Trigonella-fenugreek, Melilotus-melilot, Medicago-medick and Trifolium-clovers. These are the true clovers. Wood sorrel belongs to the family Oxalidaceae. We have five species here.

As long as I have the handbook Mala flora Slovenije I can still play around a bit with what I have noted in my lists for certain flowers. A small puzzle for me are campions or sončeci. Four grow in Slovenia. Common campion has three subspecies - egg-shaped, shiny and many-flowered. Besides common we have pre-alpine or alpine, grayish and rocky. Three campions we will find on Črna prst - pre-alpine, shiny and many-flowered. Egg-shaped we find even in valleys.

4 and 5 are probably many-flowered campions. The alpine one really has noticeably smaller flowers, leaves don't have stipules like the common one. Subspecies of common campion are hard to distinguish. I don't know the rocky and grayish ones either.
