Which flower is this?

malenka, thanks for the thorough and accurate review of my pictures. Now I have quite some work to fix my wrong determinations in my albums of individual flower groups. Small Flora of Slovenia actually helps little with determination, as there is no pictorial material. Descriptions of certain flowers are good - maybe just missing mention of flower color for some. I know for exact determination I should collect the whole plant - undamaged - have the mentioned handbook at home and examine the flower closely - also under a lens if needed. But actually I don't do that. Now I'm hardly waiting for spring to go on flower trips again.

And let's look at my photographed buttercups. Malenka presented the wood buttercup to us. Near my home there is a forest and I see it. I must photograph it next year.

In Slovenia this is almost the most widespread species of both mountain and valley flowers. On my little meadow I even dug up tuberous buttercup and photographed it - sadly the picture got lost somewhere. So we have - according to Small Flora of Slovenia - 37 species of buttercups and several subspecies.
Hybrid buttercup -Ranunculus hybridus- we cannot confuse it with any other because it has such characteristic leaves.1
Glacial buttercup-Ranunculus glacialis-this one does not grow with us-found on Hohe Tauern in Austria.2
Woolly buttercup-Ranunculus lanuginosus-this is a lowland, shady buttercup, tall and recognizable by its hairy stems.3
Lesser celandine or common pilewort-Ranunculus ficaria-grows in my meadow.4
Tall buttercup -Ranunculus acris subsp.-we have two subspecies-grows in my meadow.5
Thor buttercup Ranunculus thora -found it in Croatia, have not found it with us yet-determined by malenka.6
Carinthian buttercup -Ranunculus carinthiacus-also presented on the botanical trail Črna prst.7
Platanifolius buttercup -Ranunculus platanifolius subsp.-we have two subspecies. It is very common. I do not know a similar maple-leaved one.8
I often see them.9
Traunfellner's buttercup -Ranunculus traunfellneri-very common.10
Seguier's buttercup -Ranunculus sehuieri-found in Austria-it is rare-have not seen it with us yet.11
Hairy water buttercup -Ranunculus trichophophyllus subs.-we have two subspecies-found this at Double Lake in the Valley of Triglav Lakes.12
Probably Carinthian buttercup. Photographed on a tour to Peca. Told by malenka.13
Now I have a bunch of undetermined ones. All these four look the same -at least according to the leaves.14
All were photographed in the high mountains in the Julian Alps.15

17
I have an interesting find from six years ago on the path to Storžič—it grew by a small path near the pass below Stožič.18
No leaves were visible.19

On picture 6 is thora buttercup (Ranunculus thora), opih is totally different, it has no such leaves. It has tiny flowers, especially very characteristic fruits that elongate considerably upon ripening. You can check it on the page https://www.urbanatura.si/vsebina/686/Opih

13 - not alpine buttercup, that one flowers white and is similar to Traunfellner's. This is maybe Carinthian, but I'm not sure.

Carinthian and mountain buttercups are quite similar, mountain has slightly wider lobes of stem leaves. Mountain leaves can be glabrous or sparsely hairy, Carinthian completely glabrous, only hairs on the margin possible. This is not visible on photos if you photograph the whole plant, macro shots of details are needed.

malenka wonderful first photo of Kranj grahovec. Kranj selivko I always find on botanical path Črne prsti. Klasasti (white repuš) I find by Kokra river near my home -really no pic. I must photograph it next year. The other Idrijski jeglič is really special - maybe it's a hybrid?

Velkavrh, thanks.
Idrija primrose IS a hybrid, indicated by the X in the name. It's a hybrid between Kranj primrose and auricula, so it has traits of both. Sometimes leaves more like Kranj (thinner, greener) and flower more like auricula (yellowish with reddish tinge), other times leaves more like auricula (fleshy, grayish) and flower violet like Kranj but pinkish due to yellow admixture.

malenka, your persistence, knowledge of flowers and your rich archive of photographed plants plus Tadej's help in transferring photos to the Flowers section already gives nice results. When I looked at Flowers today I was amazed that it's already almost full of photos, since only rare plant species lack photos, and surely they will be added. I wondered if there's any plant that you in long-term botany haven't captured in the lens and is on this list? Anyway, you'll do great work and it will serve us all lovers of wild-growing flowers in nature for many years as guide and signpost in studying flowers we'll find on our mountain or lower paths. Thanks on behalf of all who'll appreciate your contribution.velik nasmehvelik nasmehnasmeh lp
