This morning it looked like a really nice day would develop, but that turned out to be wrong at least in this area. Foggy and huge moisture in the air. :jezik velik nasmeh

Otherwise the path without peculiarities, but one needs to be careful on summit parts of both peaks especially on descent and wet rocks. nasmeh

Yeah really, quite a few people we met on Zelenica and a bit above it changed their plans because of the clouds that descended over us.

in the morning it still looked like it would be nice

Today I did a nice tour from Ljubelj to Zelenica, to Palec and Zelenjak. On return I went also to the hut Izvir Završnice. Recommended for somewhat more experienced hikers.

Today my friend and I used the afternoon and jumped to the little brothers Vrtače.

Just informational...
Both Slovenian summit books are full. But they lasted quite a few years!

Since the weather was so nice today I climbed right on two nasmeh

Zelenjak and Palec were my summits today. Quite early at Ljubelj, if I got up so easily for work as I do for the mountains it would be really nice. Quickly to Zelenica, through dense scrub I push to the scree and continue up it to Zelenjak. Poles I left below since hands are better for ascent to Zelenjak. At the top I look around a bit, then descend back down and go to Palec. Here I sat quite long on the warm summit. No wind, sun pleasantly warmed, views are also nice. I returned via scree to avoid dense scrub in the lower part of the path. It was a nice day in the mountains, all the best.

That white box had an antenna and some other various thin wires like some gremlins.

Yesterday I also visited via the path through Suho ruševje Palec and Zelenjak, then after a short descent I turned right onto the Vrtače ridge and from there towards the summit. From the summit via marked path back to Zelenica. The path on the ridge is quite followable and here and there a cairn appears.

I took off in the direction of Vrtača, didn't meet him again

Yes nata24 I went to Zelenjak and Palec unintentionally last time when I also unintentionally turned too early into Suho ruševje. But it was nice anyway. Me too under Zelenjak I looked left to Vrtača and then read in Klinar's guide that you get up here via some pathless route only already a bit alpinistic and since I have too little alpinistic knowledge I didn't decide for that path. Did you go there? How did it go? Was it really a bit too much? On Zelenjak I climbed a bit my own way a bit more left I looked for passages and it was super. Best regards.

I went via the left gully. First on all fours over scree to the rocks then climbed over quite crumbly rocks. No problem.

This afternoon directly from work to Ljubelj then across Zelenica to Palec and to Zelenjak. Weather didn't promise much but I went anyway zavijanje z očmi

. On the path through the bushes I scared a couple of chamois and hurried towards the peaks which appeared every now and then among the clouds. On the way back went over the scree and on Zelenica decided to extend the tour a bit. Went also to Triangel and then continued on the old path across Ljubeljščica towards the car. At the beginning quite overgrown path then nicely along the ridge. Great views and weather held. Signposts along the path are completely faded so when arriving at Polna peč I already thought I missed. The path turned somewhere left towards Austrian side so I rather went back a bit and when I wasn't quite sure where I was zmeden

since on my map it said only POVNA due to late hour I decided to go straight down. Walked 10 minutes here and there assessing descent difficulty and rocky parts then went straight down through bushes. VERY STEEP and I think even chamois don't go down this "path" without rope jezen

Got to one streambed (of many) and descended it to Zelenica. I'm surely the first fool who went down there (maybe this could be part of Juš's PP???) velik nasmeh

In the end a wonderful day spent in the mountains.

From Ljubelj past Vrtača hut to Zelenica hut and on to Palec and Zelenjak. Back same way. Nice !!!!!

Since there wasn't much time I quickly decide and drive straight to Ljubelj and already puffing towards the hut on Zelenica. From there straight ahead towards Stol-Vrtača but a bit higher turn right onto unmarked but well visible path so nose today had little (read nothing) work mežikanje

. Over Suho Rušje first up to Zelenjak then also to Palec...to me personally both summit paths didn't seem demanding neither orientation-wise nor technical, people quite a few, weather first still clear then fog enveloped the peaks...
but I'm interested if Zelenjak has two summits or the other one that has only summit book is called differently maybe German peak? zadrega

Well @rozka I'm also interested which little peak is then the real Zelenjak.
Probably we two yesterday a bit after 9 chatted on the summit...

As far as I know rozka you are quite right about Zelenjak. They really call it German peak... Best!

"German Peak" - a little morgen mrk pogled

- doesn't exist. There's a mistake on the map - "purebred mistake" - as Stanko Klinar says. So Zelenjak and nothing else but just Zelenjak in all its pointed executive protrusions nasmeh

I expressed myself wrongly, Zelenjak is of course Zelenjak, just those other peaks some called German Peak, but as Šodrovc says that other peak seems to be Zelenjak too (just the other "summit") velik nasmeh
