Yesterday we had SŽ hike to Vrtača. Starting point at Ljubelj. With Romana we went a bit our own way, so before ascent to Vrtača we visited Palec and Zelenjak too. Romana stepped on these peaks first time, I was up there last year with Uroš when we hiked five-day tour through Karawanks (from Trbiž to Slovenj Gradec). During hike we stepped on 103 Karawanks peaks. On Vrtača we met the main group. On descent from Vrtača we visited middle peak too. At hut by spring had light snack. On Zelenica caught hikers again and went together to cars. Followed pleasant gathering below Ljubelj at guesthouse Školjka. Thus concluded 154th SŽ hike. LP.

Another nice autumn one. First to Zelenjak then to Palec. Already third time around here met Aleš and his four-legged friend. They are on pic no. 16 of my previous post. Quite some hikers milling about. Some heading to Vrtača too. Weather sunny, warm, no wind. On Zelenica as usual.

Yesterday to Palec. Trail to Zelenica in shade of Begunjščica morning cool and slightly windy. From hut on sunny towards Suho ruševje. Trail well packed. Strong wind in cirque, snow quite windblown. From Žleb to Palec tracks made (nice without crampons), ending just before tricky east side passage. There put on crampons continued to summit. Mixed conditions, some blown to ice, elsewhere 20-30cm dry snow not well bonded. Summit windy fantastic views all our mountains plus Veliki Klek and Hohe Tauern as on the palm.
Later descent met older Austrian who climbed left Ipsilona crack to Vrtača but turned 50m below top as sinking to chest.
Nice day continued descent to Smokuška planina enjoying lee hot sun. Return Ljubelj last sun rays.

Today went to check how valley to Palec and Zelenjak looks in winter conditions. Huge snow, scree not visible at all. OK for snowshoes, lots of tourers. Ended trail at Žleb. Weather bit of everything: snow shower, fog and spring sun. Nice tour, next winter time to go to Palec, today no real mood and courage.

Almost month not in high mountains so today off on my favorite tour. At 5am from Ljubelj hunters path over Zelenica to Zelenjak and Palec. Nice weather, fog chasing under peaks. Lots of flowers, met again "fast" lady. Seems doggy hardly keeps up. Didn't look but greeted with guten morgen. Also group trainees noticed. Hutkeeper said they went to Vrtača.

With the forecast of nice weather we headed from Ljubelj to Zelenica and on to Zelenjak and Palec.

Yesterday first time in this part... Zelenjak, Palec and unplanned hop to Vrtača over Mala Glava. Very nice, plenty of visitors.

Off up there again! This time with Lara, younger granddaughter. First to Zelenjak then Palec. Morning "almost" cold. Nice for walking, few hikers, super weather, tons of gentians.

It's nice in this area in every season. Today cloudless, almost no wind, with great views. Quite a few hikers and I also met a larger group of young trainees. They went over Mala Glava to Vrtača. And the "tahitro" lady with her little dog too.

Yesterday a well-spent day in the sunshine. From Ljubelj to Zelenica and then over Suho ruševje to Zelenjak and then also to Palec.
On the way back, a visit to the "easier" training via ferrata Spodnji plot and ascent to Triangel then back to the valley and obligatory visit to the famous inn in Tržič.

From Ljubelj along the border path, past the hut at Zelenica first to Zelenjak and then also to Palec. Quite a few snow patches to cross, but possible without crampons and ice axe. /we had crampons and ice axe with us/. Matej and I were hanging around up there. From Palec we saw someone on Zelenjak. More was happening at Zelenica than usual. A bit of wind was quite welcome, as it was pretty warm.

Barbara and Jana were afraid they'd miss the turn-off for Suho ruševje, so I went to show them. /they hadn't been up there yet/. Path without special features, weather held up.

We did a nice circular route: Ljubelj - Zelenica - Suho ruševje - Palec - Zelenjak - Vrh Ljubeljščice - Zgornji plot - ridge of Ljubeljščica - Ljubelj pass - Ljubelj. Tour for connoisseurs with some adrenaline. Recommended. More at: https://www.gore-ljudje.net/novosti/149143/

silvo19652, nice achievement! Since you always nicely take care of a photo of some flower and it looks like you have a lot of sense for flora, I'd just correct you that on picture 3 it's shining cinquefoil. The common one has more dissected leaves. Warm greetings nasmeh
