Dom na Šmohorju

Description of mountain:
The mountain lodge on Šmohor is located on a picturesque and scenic ridge between Laško, Liboje and Zabukovica. The lodge, a popular spot for both hikers and mountain bikers, stands at the edge of the expansive Šmohor meadows, and in its immediate vicinity grow mighty old lime trees that are protected as a natural monument.
From the lodge itself, and even better from the grassy ridge a few minutes away by the Church of Saint Mohor, a wonderful view opens onto the nearby and distant peaks of the Posavje hills. To the south there is a fine view of Veliko Kozje and Kopitnik, and deep below them one can clearly see the town of Laško and the winding valley of the Savinja River. Looking north, the view first captures the nearby wooded peaks of Gozdnik and Kotečnik, and in good weather Paški Kozjak and part of Pohorje are clearly visible in the distance. To the east and west the view is largely obstructed by the nearby forest.
Thanks to numerous easy and well-marked trails from all sides, Šmohor is an excellent destination for short family outings in all seasons.
