Breitscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 1925 meters in the Zillertal Alps. The saddle is located 1.0 km south-southwest of peak Plattenkogel. The nearest mountain hut is Gletscherblickalm, located 1.4km north-northwest. bivouac Gämsehütte is also relatively close. 6 km south of the saddle there is lake Unterer Gerlos See. 5 km south from the saddle there is glacier Wildkarkees, 6 km south-southeast from the saddle there is also glacier Weißkarkees. The saddle is located above the valley Wildgerlostal.
