Hochkarscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2898 meters located in the High Tauern mountain range. The saddle is located 1.0 km north-northeast of peak Ogasilspitze. The nearest mountain hut is Islitzeralm, located 3km southeast. A little further is bivouac Blinigalm. 4 km northwest from the saddle there is glacier Umbalkees, 4 km north-northwest from the saddle there is also glacier Simonykees. The saddle is located above the valley Maurertal.
