Steinkarlscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 1954 meters located in the Lower Tauern mountain range. The saddle is located 4 km west from the center of Sankt Nikolai im Sölktal and 9 km south from the center of Großsölk. The nearest mountain hut is Bräualm, located 4km southeast. A little further is bivouac Mößna Bröckl. Southwest of the saddle is the valley Rantengraben.
