Description:
Achsel is 2334 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 3 km west of peak Hoher Rosshuf. The nearest mountain hut is Schlüichalm, located 3km west. Closer is bivouac Neugersdorfer Hütte, which is located 2km to the north-northwest. 5 km northwest of the peak there is lake Eissee. 3 km east from the summit there is glacier Östliches Kerrakees, 4 km southeast from the summit there is also glacier Rötkees - Vedretta Rossa. West-northwest of the summit is the valley Zillergründl.
