Description:
Gamskogel is 2020 meter high peak in the Dachstein Mountains. The peak is located 6 km southwest from the center of Hallstatt and 8 km west-southwest from the center of Obertraun and 1.2 km north-northwest of peak Hoher Grünberg and east above the mountain pasture Hoßwandalm. The nearest mountain hut is Tiergartenhütte, located 1.4km east-northeast. And Badstub'n Hütte is also close by. 5 km south from the summit there is glacier Großer Gosaugletscher, 7 km south-southeast from the summit there is also glacier Schladminger Gletscher. East-northeast of the summit is the valley Koppental.
