Description:
Gransteinkogel is 2801 meter high peak in the Ötztal Alps. The peak is located 5 km northwest from the center of Sölden and 5 km south from the center of Huben and 3 km east of peak Fotzenkarstange. The nearest mountain hut is Vordere Pollesalm, located 1.9km north-northwest. A little further is bivouac Rheinland-Pfalz-Biwak. 4 km west-northwest from the summit there is glacier Geigenkarleferner, 4 km west from the summit there is also glacier Innerer Pirchlkarferner.
