Großes Kahndl is 3179 meter high peak in the Natural Park Gruppo di Tessa. The peak is located 4 km north-northwest from the center of Vernagt - Vernago and 4 km east-northeast from the center of Kurzras - Maso Corto. The nearest mountain hut is Similaunhütte - Rifugio Similaun, located 2km east-northeast. A little further is bivouac Schäferhütte. 2 km west-northwest from the summit there is glacier Hochjochferner - Ghiacciaio Giogo Alto, 3 km north-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Hochjochferner. South-southwest of the summit is the valley Schnalstal.
