Description:
Hinterer Kalkstein is 1432 meter high peak and is part of the mountain group Steinberge. The peak is located 4 km west from the center of St. Ulrich am Pillersee and 4 km north-northwest from the center of St. Jakob in Haus. The nearest mountain hut is Winterstelleralm, located 1.6km southeast. bivouac Der Lärchenhof is a bit further away. 4 km east-northeast of the peak there is lake Pillersee. East of the summit is the valley Pillerseetal.
