Hinterer Signalkogel is 1014 meter high peak in the Salzkammergut Mountains. The peak is located 5 km southwest from the center of Neukirchen bei Altmünster and 7 km south-southwest from the center of Reindlmühl and 3 km east-northeast of peak Brunnkogel. The nearest mountain hut is Rieder Hütte, located 4km south. A bit closer is Jageralm, which is located 1.1km to the east. 1.1 km southeast of the peak there is lake Vorderer Langbathsee. South-southwest of the summit is the valley Weißenbachtal.
