Hohe Achsel is 3161 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 1.4 km east-northeast of peak Kleiner Hexenkopf. The nearest mountain hut is Badener Hütte, located 1.7km north. And bivouac Merschenhütte is also close by. 1.5 km southwest from the summit there is glacier Hexenkees, 1.8 km south-southwest from the summit there is also glacier Säulfrosnitzkees. East-southeast of the summit is the valley Frosnitztal.
