Plankogel is 2347 meter high peak and is part of the Stubai Alps. The peak is located in country Austria 1.9 km west-southwest of peak Hohe Wasserfalle. The nearest mountain hut is Armelenhütte, located 5km west-northwest. A bit closer is Jagdhütte, which is located 0.7km to the south. 6 km northwest of the peak there is lake Piburger See. 8 km southeast from the summit there is glacier Grasstallferner, 8 km southeast from the summit there is also glacier Grieskogelferner. Northeast of the summit is the valley Längental.
