Rothorn is 2516 meter high peak located in the Lower Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 1.4 km southwest of peak Faulkogel. The nearest mountain hut is Franz-Fischer-Hütte, located 1.3km south-southeast. Schwabalm is also relatively close. 3 km west-southwest of the peak there is lake Tappenkarsee. South-southwest of the summit is the valley Kleinelendtal.
