Schareck is 2606 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 5 km southeast of peak Brennkogel. The nearest mountain hut is Spatzl Alm, located 1.2km southwest. bivouac Otto-Umlauft-Biwak is a bit further away. 5 km northwest from the summit there is glacier Brennkogelkees, 6 km east-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Krumlkees.
