Schneckenkarkopf is 2526 meter high peak and is part of the Zillertal Alps. The peak is located 1.3 km southwest of peak Schlachtertauern. The nearest mountain hut is Birnlückenhütte - Rifugio Brigata Tridentina, located 4km southeast. A bit closer is bivouac Neugersdorfer Hütte, which is located 2km to the south. 2 km west-southwest of the peak there is lake Eissee. 3 km west-northwest from the summit there is glacier Hohenaukees, 5 km southeast from the summit there is also glacier Östliches Kerrakees. The peak is located southwest of the valley Krimmler Achental.
